Abstract: A shelf includes a slot or opening configuration for use in mounting different types of shelf accessories to the shelf. The slot or opening configuration includes an enlarged primary or central section and a pair of secondary or end sections extending in opposite directions from the primary section. The primary section of the opening receives an axially-extending mounting member associated with a shelf accessory, such as a fastener for mounting a bin divider or the mounting portion of a rod-type shelf divider. Abstract: A shelf divider is designed for use on a shelf having rows of apertures extending along the front and back of the shelf. The divider is made of plastic sheet with a vertical divider panel and a horizontal attachment panel. A tongue at the front end of the attachment panel is inserted in a selected aperture at the front of the shelf. A perforation in the attachment panel aligned with the tongue is positioned to overlie a corresponding aperture at the back of the shelf. To releasably attach the divider to the shelf, a push-in plastic pin is inserted in the perforation and corresponding aperture. The divider is formed with tongues and perforations at both ends to make it reversible.

  • Patent number: 5044135
Abstract: The present invention relates to a cluster office work station system having an equilateral polygonal shaped central core having five or more vertical side panels. The individual work stations are defined by wall panels connected to common lateral edges of the side panels and extending from the side panels at substantially right angles. Work surfaces and other accessories, like cabinets and shelves, are attached to the wall panels to complete the work stations and the central core functions as a common raceway for electrical, power and communication cabling. In addition, the connector for interconnecting the lateral edges of two adjacent side panels and a wall panel is adjustable to accommodate work stations having four or more side panels.

  • Patent number: 4986194
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to a multi-adjustable, multi-functional, space saving workplace system. The subject workplace system comprises a substantially horizontal table member including a first slot located within the top horizontal surface at the rearward portion of the table member. The plan view of the table member is substantially V-shaped. The portion of the table member forward of the slot forms a work surface for conducting workplace operations. The table member is supported in a substantially horizontal position with respect to the vertical axis of the workplace system.A substantially horizontally-disposed covering member is located above the first slot and is disposed substantially parallel to the table member. The covering member provides acoustical integrity for workers located within the confines of the workplace system. It includes second slot located in the bottom horizontal surface at the rearward portion of the covering member.

  • Patent number: 4809856
Abstract: A sliding shelf divider comprises a generally U-shaped channel and a divider slidable along the channel. The channel has steps at the intersections of the side and bottom walls. The divider comprises a base member having a plate portion with a tab depending therefrom. The base member also has an upstanding ridge with a portion that overhangs the plate portion bottom edge. The tab and overhanging ridge portion form a slot for receiving a channel wall. The tab free end contacts the interior surface of the channel step for supporting the base member, and the free end of the overhanging ridge has a hook that engages the step exterior surface. The base member is thus retained on and slidable along the channel. A wire frame is received within a groove in the ridge. Tilting the base member disengages the hook from the channel for easy disassembly of the base member from the channel.

  • Patent number: RE38707
Abstract: The invention relates to shelving, in particular, shelving consisting of components which are assembled with securing elements. The invention contains a frame having a back wall, a pair of side walls, a top wall and a bottom wall attached to each other with a plurality of tabs and corresponding slots located on the back wall, side walls, top wall and bottom wall. The back wall, side walls, top wall and bottom wall are constructed of folded material which provides rounded edges that limit damage to material stored on the shelf. A securing bore is located on each of the tabs and is milled to a particular diameter corresponding to the type of material used to construct the shelf and the load supported. A plurality of safety bars are inserted through the securing bore located on each of the tabs. The safety bars prevent the removal of the tabs from the corresponding slots and help secure the shelf.
