Patent number: 4286526Abstract: A coin bank in the form of a hollow receptacle having a slidable bottom locked in closed position by a concealed locking device which can be rendered ineffective by inserting a release pin or the like into a very small passageway formed in the bottom of the receptacle to release the locking device with the passageway receiving the pin being concealed by a penetrable cushioning member. The bottom of the receptacle is provided with a plurality of directional arrows of distinguishable color pointing to a plurality of concealed passageways for receiving the releasing pin but only one of these passageways, is associated with the locking device. This passageway is known only to the owner of the bank or those having knowledge of the color code for a particular bank thereby more effectively preventing unauthorized removal of coins from the bank.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 1979Date of Patent: September 1, 1981Assignee: Charles J. Patent number: 4266372Abstract: A sliding door is provided which is suitable for use as a heavy door for vaults in banks. The door is provided at its bottom with driving wheels adapted to be rotated manually by means of a handle, through a suitable power transmitting means, thereby to move the door along a rail. The power transmitting means may incorporate a suitable reduction means so that the door may be moved with a reduced force and, accordingly, at a lower speed. Means are provided for locking the door in the closed state.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 1979Date of Patent: May 12, 1981Assignee: Kongo Co., Ltd.Inventor: Genshi Taniwaki

Patent number: 4176610Abstract: In a safe deposit apparatus of the type having a horizontally pivoted sector-shaped door with an interior pocket formed by a pivoted wall serving to eject articles from the pocket when the door is closed, the pivoted wall is normally biassed to the pocket-forming position and is displaceable therefrom to the ejecting position by a cam arrangement which becomes operable as the door is closed. Another cam arrangement maintains the pivoted wall in the ejecting position during opening the door. A locking mechanism permits opening of the door to a first position at which envelopes may be deposited, but prevents opening to a second position for the deposition of wallets except when released by a user's key.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 1978Date of Patent: December 4, 1979Assignee: Chubb Industries LimitedInventors: Michael H.
