  • Patent number: 11054134
Abstract: A combustion/pyrolization system comprising a combustion/pyrolization chamber supported by the base frame, and a perforated grate forms a bottom surface of the combustion/pyrolization chamber and facilitates passage of char and boichar therethrough. The combustion/pyrolization chamber is open along at a top and an air manifold supplies a first source of combustion air across the top of the combustion/pyrolization chamber to form an air curtain. A char collection/transfer chamber is located below the perforated grate for collecting at least the char and boichar that passes therethrough, and a conveying mechanism transfers the char and boichar out of the combustion/pyrolization system for collection and use. An air plenum chamber cools the char collection/transfer chamber such that the supplied secondary air becomes heated, and the heated secondary air flows into the char collection/transfer chamber and through the perforated grate into the combustion/pyrolization chamber to provide secondary combustion air.

  • Patent number: 6966268
Abstract: This invention, Centrifugal and Divided Space combustion method, need to install a cylindrical fuel pot, the first combustion chamber, the second combustion chamber and an exhaust pot. It also needs to install the upper and the lower pots outside the first combustion chamber and the fuel pot in order to have the lower and the upper air paths inside the outer pots. One or several ventilator(s) to make air-flow is tangentially connected to the upper and the lower air paths at the lower part of the upper outer pot. And several air-flow control devices should be located at the upper part of the upper air path. Thus, the invention is composed to realize the complete combustion only with the air supply into the furnace. In this case, the space in the furnace is divided into many combustive sectors by the air-flow.

  • Patent number: 6938562
Abstract: A gasification system that includes a gasification reactor chamber having perforated conduits or an inner lining that increases the exposed surface area of waste materials to gasification conditions, thereby decreasing gasification temperature, time, and cooling period between subsequent gasification procedures. After an aspirator withdraws and oxidizes fuel gas from the gasification reactor chamber, a flare assembly combusts the mixed fuel gas to provide power or heat to at least one heat recovery device. The at least one heat recovery device recaptures thermal energy entrained in the exhaust, thereby reducing exhaust temperature and eliminating the need for an exhaust stack. An absorber purifies the exhaust and an extractor removes carbon dioxide. A portion of the removed carbon dioxide may be used for industrial purposes or for supporting vegetation. At least a portion of the remaining exhaust is returned to the gasification reactor chamber as recycled process gas, thereby completing a closed-loop system.

  • Patent number: 5357941
Abstract: There is disclosed a refractory baffle for use in a fireplace which dispenses, via apertures provided therein, preheated combustion air over the central combustion zone of the fireplace. The refractory material substantially avoids warpage, flame quenching and other limitations associated with metal baffles.

  • Patent number: 5323718
Abstract: In an incinerator having a housing structure defining a combustion chamber provided with a pair of side walls, a stoker disposed in the combustion chamber between the side walls and an underfire air system, an overfire air system generally consisting of a first means for injecting a variable volume of air under pressure into the combustion chamber at a level above the stoker, and second means for injecting a variable volume of air under pressure into the combustion chamber at a level above the stoker, a second variable volume air injecting means including means for conveying air supplied to the combustion chamber in heat exchange relation with at least one side wall of the combustion chamber for cooling such wall.

  • Patent number: 5008098
Abstract: The present invention relates to neutralization of liquid waste products containing different organohalides. A method of combustion neutralization of liquid waste products resides in that a mixture of the liquid waste products with an alkali reagent is prepared and introduced in the form of a sprayed flow into a high-temperature stream of the fuel combustion products, sprayed water being introduced between the stream of fuel combustion products and the path of the sprayed mixture. The consumption during combustion neutralization is no less than 1.2 kg per kg of the above mixture of waste products with the alkali reagent and no more than 2.5 kg per kg of the fuel being used.
