    Abstract: A two-needle overlock sewing machine comprises a throat plate and a middle tongue. The throat plate has an opening needle hole and an outer tongue. The middle tongue is disposed parallel to the outer tongue, a thread chain is formed so as to envelop both tongues. The presser foot is disposed so as to press the cloth to the throat plate by a spring. A push-up lever lifts up the presser foot by handling. The push-up lever and the middle tongue are coupled together by a transmission mechanism. By raising the presser foot by manipulation of the push-up lever at the finish of sewing operation, the middle tongue draws back simultaneously and retreats from the needle hole. As a result, the manipulation for drawing back the middle tongue during the process of thread chain handling is not needed, and the operation is simplified.

A arch clamp foot pressing device is provided with a carrying unit which moves arch clamp foot lifting levers substantially horizontally along axes connecting between tip end portions and base end portions of the arch clamp foot lifting levers while it is guided by a pin, wherein the arch clamp foot lifting levers are moved in the direction of the base end portions by the carrying unit so that the tip end portions of the arch clamp foot lifting levers are disengaged from slots of arch clamp feet.

    Abstract: This invention is a dual foot pedal control for a sewing machine consisting of a foot activated tiltable pedal assembly mounted on a base member which is attached to a stabilizing mat. The tiltable pedal assembly is connected by rod to a sewing machine control arm which activates the sewing machine. In addition, the sewing machine is speed controlled by the counter-clockwise pressure on the pedal assembly which is transmitted by rod to the sewing machine control arm. The pedal assembly, when foot-tilted clockwise, activates an air control valve which directs compressed air to an air cylinder which is connected to and opens the presser foot of the sewing machine. When tilted counter-clockwise the air control valve dissipates air to the air cylinder allowing the presser foot to lower and clamp the material to be sewn.

    Abstract: A pressure foot lifter mechanism is installed as an attachment on any sewing machine. In a preferred embodiment, a clamp is attached to the presser foot lifter bar of a sewing machine, and a coil spring is used to bias a cable attached to the clamp in a downward direction. The coil spring extends over and biases the presser foot lifter bar, and thereby the pressure foot, downwardly. The cable passes through a flexible tube removably attached to the outer surface of the machine. The tube extends upwardly from the coil spring, then across the horizontal body of the machine, and then downwardly to a hole in the table top of the machine. A washer or flange is placed over the hole in the table top. The tube which carries the cable is removably attached at several locations to the sewing machine. When pressure is applied to a foot pedal, a cable tension will increase and the end of the cable attached to the pressure foot lifter bar will lift the presser foot from the table.
