Positionable Work Carrier Under Mechanical Pattern Or Program Control Patents (Class 112/470.09)
  • Patent number: 11311927
Abstract: The present invention discloses a cutting auxiliary device integrated with clamping and blanking functions includes a positioning and loading unit, a clamping unit and a supporting unit. The supporting unit and the clamping unit can slide left and right on the platform of the positioning and loading unit through the slide block and slide groove structure. The supporting unit and the clamping unit are connected through an adjustable push rod with a scale bar; The board is placed on the positioning platform, and the adjustable push rod is pushed to move the supporting unit and the clamping unit to fix the board again for cutting. After completion, the handwheel is turned to make the clamping platform rotate such that the material is transferred into the material receiving container.

  • Patent number: 11045378
Abstract: A method of making a fabric component includes arranging panels of fabric on a frame such that a first panel is in direct contact with the frame and a second panel is positioned on a side of the first panel opposite the frame. The method includes arranging the panels on the frame to cover an opening of the frame and a clamping surface of the frame that surrounds a perimeter of the opening. The method includes rotating a clamp about an axis from an open position to a closed position to hold the panels directly interposed between the clamp and the clamping surface. The method includes arranging the opening in an operating area of a programmable sewing machine, and operating the sewing machine to sew the panels together within the opening such that the panels form the fabric component. The method includes removing the fabric component from the frame.

  • Patent number: 10895030
Abstract: Various examples are provided related to transporting and sewing material in, e.g., automation of sewing robots. Multiple pieces of layered materials can be transported on a flat planar surface while maintaining the material layer's position and orientation relative to one another during a sewing procedure of these materials along any arbitrary seam shape. In one example, among others, a method includes positioning a second piece of material on a first piece of material located on a sewing plane, positioning a material holding apparatus over the pieces of material to secure position and orientation between the pieces of material, locating the pieces of material with respect to an automated sewing machine by repositioning the material holding apparatus, and sewing the second piece of material to the first piece of material. The methods can eliminate the need of custom-made templates for sewing arbitrarily shaped seams with an automated sewing machine.

Multiple pieces of layered materials can be transported on a flat planar surface while maintaining the material layer's position and orientation relative to one another during a sewing procedure of these materials along any arbitrary seam shape. In one example, among others, a system includes a sewing machine including a sewing needle, a material holding assembly and a translation system. The material holding assembly can include mechanical fingers that can contact material on a sewing plane adjacent to the sewing needle and a structural grounding system supporting the mechanical fingers. The translation system can reposition the material on the sewing plane via the mechanical fingers. Clearance around the sewing needle can be provided by repositioning individual mechanical fingers around the sewing needle.
