With Diverse Downstream Operation Patents (Class 112/470.36)
  • Patent number: 11939714
Abstract: Various examples are provided related to attachment of bands about a garment opening. In one example, among others, a sleeve band can be attached to a garment by loading the sleeve band on a band guide, aligning an opening of a garment over the sleeve band, and attaching the band to the garment along the edge of the opening. Alignment of the edges of the opening and the sleeve band can be maintained by ply aligners during attachment. In another example, a garment holding system includes a garment holder that can receive a garment and a band positioning system includes a band guide that can receive a band. Edges of the opening of the garment and the band can be controlled and maintained with ply aligners of the band positioning system.

  • Patent number: 9056739
Abstract: A sheet inverter having two spaced apart sheet transport units and a rotation device, the rotation device supporting the sheet transport units in a rotatable manner about a common axis of rotation, the sheet transport units each includes at least one transport element, which provides a direction of transport that extends parallel to the axis of rotation; and a controllable drive unit for driving the transport element. The rotation device moves the sheet transport units in an alternating manner between an input position and an output position, wherein the sheet transport unit in the input position is aligned with a transport unit arranged upstream to the sheet inverter and the sheet transport unit in the output position is aligned with a transport unit arranged downstream from the sheet inverted.

  • Patent number: 6397768
Abstract: A machine for automatically producing a mattress border with handles sewn to the border material. Border material is pre-fed from a selected spool, screened for splice avoidance and measured. Handle material is fed from a selected spool mounted in a multiple handle material spool magazine mounted on rails, fed into a handle folding assembly, and cut to length. Ends of the handle material are folded under by the handle folding assembly and the handle then transferred in a folded condition from the handle folding assembly to a correct position on the border material. A double frame handle press holds each folded end of the handle material in place as each end is maneuvered under a sewing head needle to apply a stitch pattern to secure the folded ends to the border material. The double frame handle press is translated separately from the carriage assembly which travels in the sew pattern, to position the other end of the handle under the sewing needle.

  • Patent number: 6293213
Abstract: A method and apparatus for automatically cutting notches at specific locations on a web which are separated by predetermined lengths which are the outer dimensions of a pillowtop mattress. The web is pulled through a sewing station with a traction drive. Slack is induced in the web downstream of the traction drive. Predetermined lengths are drawn out of the slack bin in a single motion through a linear measuring device. A knife disposed in close proximity to the measuring device cuts the notches at the specific locations and subsequently severs the notched portion from the remainder of the web.
