Gauging Patents (Class 112/75)
  • Patent number: 10465321
Abstract: A sewing machine includes a sewing machine motor serving as a drive source for driving the vertical movement of a needle bar, a control part for controlling the sewing machine motor such that a sewing pitch coincides with a set value, and imaging part for imaging a seam formed in a workpiece at a needle drop position. The control part obtains the length of the most recent seam from an image of the most recent seam imaged by the imaging part and also compares the length of the most recent seam with the set value of the sewing pitch to thereby correct the number of rotations of the sewing machine motor.

  • Patent number: 4650104
Abstract: A positioning device comprises a reciprocably movable support table having a surface extending in a plane above a clinching die of a button setting machine for supporting a garment fabric to which a button is to be attached, and a pair of guide members disposed on the surface in perpendicular relation. The table includes a recess which is registry with the clinching die when the table is in an advanced position. One of the guide member is positionally adjustable in a direction perpendicular to the direction of movement of the table and the other guide member is positionally adjustable in a direction parallel to the direction of movement of the table. Thus the garment fabric can be positioned accurately and easily with respect to the clinching die by simply putting two adjacent edges of the garment fabric into guided engagement with the respective guide members.

  • Patent number: 4091752
Abstract: A buttonhole gauging presser device usable on sewing machines with or without automatic buttonhole mechanisms. This presser device includes button engaging projections which position both a cam for actuating an automatic buttonholing mechanism as well as visual indicating means. At the start of buttonhole sewing the visual indicating means occupies a position in advance of the sewing needle or indicia on the presser foot, and then as the buttonhole is stitched, the visual indicating means moves into alignment with the needle (or indicia) which serves a signal to the operator of a manual sewing machine that an operator-initiated action is required to have the sewing machine create a buttonhole end and reverse direction.

  • Patent number: 3973507
Abstract: A work guide apparatus for a sewing machine providing a plate moveable in guided engagement with guide means attached to a base surface of the sewing machine. The plate carries a work piece along a path of motion relative to the sewing machine needle, with plate movement being limited by adjustable stop means to correspondingly limit the stitching length. Gauge means extending across the plate accommodates positioning portions of the work piece in a selected spatial relation to a reference line on the plate to control the location of the stitching as required in tacking, pleating, measuring and sizing of draperies.
