    Abstract: The touch-operating input device is configured so that when the control circuit turns on the main light source corresponding to each of the translucent operation buttons that can be operated, the control circuit, on condition that the translucent operation button corresponding to the main light source that is turned on is operated, turns off the sub-light source corresponding to the translucent operation button that is turned on simultaneously with the main light source. Ease of operation is increased by enabling the operator to distinguish operated translucent operation buttons from translucent operation buttons that have not been operated according to whether or not the main light sources are lit.

    Abstract: A device and system is provided for alerting or signaling a vehicle driver after the driver leaves a vehicle compartment. A signaling device, in a deployed condition, is physically located in a forward line-of-sight of a driver operator of the vehicle. The signaling device is deployed automatically in the event of the opening of a vehicle door from the inside of a vehicle compartment. Resetting of the signaling device, out of the line-of-sight, requires manual operation by the vehicle operator outside the vehicle compartment. The system ensures that the operator will be alerted to safety procedures required after activities outside vehicle.

    Abstract: A travel distance indicator having an elongated distance scale and a slidable marker member straddling the distance scale. A front leg of the marker member has a front projection which slidably fits within a channel extending lengthwise across a front surface of the distance scale. The channel stops short of each end of the distance scale to prevent the marker member from being inadvertently slid off an end of the distance scale. Pictorial symbols are removably attached to the front surface of the distance scale in the order in which various stops and observations are represented by the symbols are to occur. A marker in the shape of a motor vehicle is fixed to the marker member to give an appearance of a vehicle traveling along a road strip that is part of the distance scale. The road strip includes graduations which divide the distance bar into equal portions to represent equal portions of miles of travel.

    Abstract: A form of competitive motorcycle racing termed "Enduro racing" comprises a series of race segments. The object of the race is to traverse each race segment at speeds which are as close as possible to the target speeds for the race segment. Along each race segment may be a check point or a series of check points where the elapsed time required by a contestant is measured, with total score for a race being determined at least in part by the success of the contestant in traversing a previously undisclosed portion of each race segment in a target time corresponding to the time required to traverse that portion of the race segment in the target speed. Thus, it is the contestant's challenge to not only maneuver his motorcycle with considerable skill but to maintain a constant speed, anticipate potential checkpoints along each race segment, and where possible, complete each race segment in the correct amount of time.

    Abstract: A guidance system for use by a pilot in parking an aircraft on a parking place at an air terminal building and in stopping the aircraft at an exactly predetermined stopping point in the parking place. The system includes a transmitter unit having a plurality of transmitter elements disposed on the ground in the region of the parking place and successively following upon each other in the direction of travel of the aircraft. When the nose wheel of the aircraft successively passes over the transmitter elements these elements activate an information unit preferably mounted on the air terminal building within the pilot's field of vision. The information unit includes indicator elements which continuously inform the pilot of the length of the distance up to the stopping point and when this stopping point is reached.
