Abstract: Described in some aspects of the present invention are methods and systems that can be used to track occurrences and/or non-occurrences of medical-related events, for example, to record whether one or more medical-related events have occurred at a particular time or during a particular time interval. Any suitable number of events may be tracked using such methods and systems, and the types and varieties of events that can be tracked are diverse. Examples include but are not limited to vaccine or other drug administrations, physical therapies, tests, diagnoses and surgeries. In some preferred embodiments, these and/or other medical-related occurrences or events will be tracked using an article that can be worn about the body of a patient although a variety of non-wearable articles can be utilized as well.

Abstract: A multi flow multi venting nipple includes a teat having a flow aperture which allows for at least two different flow rates depending upon the operative radial orientation of the nipple. The nipple further includes a number of vent apertures, equal to the number of flow rates, formed by check valves extending through the nipple to reduce negative pressure during use. Each vent aperture is associated with a particular flow rate, and is radially oriented to be uppermost and vertically above the flow aperture during use at such flow rate. All vent apertures will be operable at once. The nipple further includes safety walls extending from the nipple and surrounding at least half the periphery of each check valve forming the vent apertures. The safety wall prevents unintentional and rough contact from damaging the check valves.

Abstract: The current disclosure is directed to a container with a dispensing schedule. In one implementation, the container with a dispensing schedule comprises a bottle with a threaded neck and a complementarily threaded cap having a cylindrical rim and an internal schedule display. An indication on or within the internal schedule display is displayed through an aperture in the cap rim. Features included in the cap and schedule display interoperate to ensure that the displayed indication is advanced when the cap is removed from, and subsequently threaded onto, the bottle container. The displayed indication is relatively large and clear, to facilitate viewing by vision-impaired users, and the indication-advancement mechanism is robust and reliable. In addition, the cap and internal schedule display include features that allow the displayed indication to be set to a particular indication.

Abstract: A device and method of tapering medication in a post-operative patient is provided. The system includes a stationary base having indicia thereon representative of a defined period of time; a first circular wheel concentrically positioned on the stationary base, the first circular wheel representative of a first medication being taken by a patient; and a pin coupling the substantially circular wheel to said stationary base to permit the wheel to rotate 360 degrees about said base. The method of tapering medication includes gradually increasing the time intervals that medication is administered to a post-operative patient.

Abstract: A frangible electrical circuit sheet for a dosage form package includes a first plurality of electrically conductive trace subnetworks interconnected with one another to form a network of electrically conductive traces and disposed on the sheet. The sheet further includes a second plurality of circuit elements connected to the network of electrically conductive traces such that each circuit element is associated with one of the subnetworks. At least some of the circuit elements have element values that differ from one another.

Abstract: A device is provided for storing, organizing, and dispensing prescription pills that includes a clamshell container configured to house a pill tray, pill tray lid, and sliding card. The pill tray contains an array of pill chambers that are covered by the pill tray lid, or alternatively, by an adhesive foil seal. The clamshell container includes a top portion and a bottom portion, the top portion having an array of pill holes that correspond with the chambers of the pill tray. The top of the sliding card has markings corresponding to the pill chambers beneath it and slides over the pill tray and beneath the top portion of the claim shell. Pills are placed within the pill holes on top of the sliding card. When the sliding card is removed, the pills fall through the pill holes and into the pill chambers of the pill tray.

Abstract: A prescription pill vial with dosage indexer is disclosed. The prescription pill vial includes a body having a sidewall and bottom forming an enclosure for prescription medications. The sidewall extends below the bottom forming a cavity beneath the enclosure. A rosette is on the bottom of the body. The rosette has a plurality of detents thereon. An indexer is configured to fit into the cavity and rotate therewithin. The indexer has a spring-biased pawl that engages the detents on the rosette, limiting the rotation of the indexer to a number of predefined positions corresponding to the detents on the rosette.

Abstract: An alignment system for accurately setting the flow rate of a flow selector device, the system includes a flow selector device having a flow rate selection mechanism rotatable between a plurality of pre-selected positions; a knob providing a grip to rotate the flow rate selection mechanism, the knob having a distal portion, a proximal portion, and at least one registering element; and a cover movable between an open position providing access to the knob and a closed position restricting access to the knob, the cover further including at least one cover element that prevents closure when the registering element is misaligned with a pre-selected position.

Abstract: Waste treatment component includes a base having a lower wall and a peripheral wall extending from the lower wall and to one side of the lower wall around the periphery of the lower wall. The lower wall and peripheral wall define a compartment on an upper side of the lower wall that is receivable of waste treatment material. To allow for dispersal of this material, the base has apertures in communication with the first compartment. A movable member is arranged at the lower end of the base and has a portion spaced apart from the lower wall to define a second compartment between the member and the lower wall that is receivable of waste treatment material. To allow for dispersal of this material, the member includes apertures in communication with the second compartment. Thus, the waste treatment component includes two compartments, one on each side of the lower wall.

The indicator enables a caregiver to identify when a volume breast milk was pumped/expires when the storage bottle includes breast milk; and to identify when a certain amount of formula was prepared/expires when the storage bottle includes formula; and to distinguish between the breast milk container and the formula container.

Abstract: A liquid medication reminder assembly stores liquid medication and provides a reminder when to take the medication. The assembly includes a container having a bottom portion and a cap. The bottom portion defines an interior space configured for holding a medication. A top edge of a perimeter wall of the bottom portion defines an opening into the interior space. The cap is coupled to the bottom portion of the container. Each of plurality of indicia is positioned on the container corresponding to a unique time period. A band is coupled to and extends around the container over the indicia. An opening extends through the band. The band is movably coupled to the container wherein the opening is alignable with a selectable one of the indicia on the container such that the selectable one of the indicia is visible through the opening.

Abstract: A dose counter for use in connection with a device adapted for metered dispensing of a medication is described. The dose counter has a first count indicator that has a first indicia bearing surface, with the first count indicator being rotatable about a first axis. The dose counter also has a second count indicator that has a second indicia bearing surface, with the second count indicator being rotatable about a second axis. The second axis is disposed at an obtuse angle with respect to the first axis, and the first and second indicia bearing surfaces align at a common viewing area to collectively present at least a portion of a medication dosage count.

Abstract: A dosage indicator assembly is presented which may be removably attached or fixedly attached to a pill bottle or other medication container, for instance, for disposition onto a top surface of a pill bottle cap, as a replacement cap for a pill bottle, or integral with a cap of a pill bottle. In particular, the dosage indicator assembly of the various embodiments of the present invention is cooperatively structured to track and/or indicate to a user the consumption of prescription pills or other medication in order to prevent inadvertent overdose, for instance, as a result of a lapse in memory as to whether a pill or medication has recently been consumed.

Abstract: A device to be mounted or adhere to a bottle cap, a box or other surface that easy and economically tracks when the last day and dose of a medicine or vitamin was taken or when the next is due The present invention comprises two disk and a dial. The base disk has indicia representing the days of the week, recessed teeth on the edge means to inhibit counterclockwise rotation of the cover disk and a central pin protruding from the center that clasp the three elements together at the same times that allows rotation of the cover disk over the base. The cover disk has indicia for the dose with a protruding wedge tooth means to inhibit counterclockwise rotation of the cover in relation to the base and a window to see the indicia of the base disk. The dial points to the dose indicia and holds the three parts together once the pin from the base disk clasp inside its aperture.

Abstract: The present invention is a medicine dosing indicator for use in dispensing medication from a container having a neck and a cap. In one embodiment, the indicator comprises a substantially flexible sheet made from heavy weight paper comprising outside and inside surfaces. The sheet further comprises a centrally disposed opening that is larger than the neck of the container and smaller than the cap of the container. The sheet further comprises a slit and first and second end portions disposed adjacent the slit. The outside surface of the sheet comprises a perimeter portion surrounding the central opening. The indicator further comprises a plurality of first indicia indicative of times disposed on the perimeter portion of the sheet. The indicator further comprises a plurality of second indicia indicative of doses disposed on the perimeter portion of the sheet. The first and second end portions are flexed or otherwise moved to mount the central opening of the sheet about the neck of the container.

Abstract: A collar having an inner and outer ring that move relative to each other, with one ring having time indicia and the other ring having an indicator window and an inner flexible membrane for placement over a medicine container. The indicator window is placed over the number representative of the time another dose of medicine is due. The device may be easily placed over a wide variety of different shaped medicament containers and acts as a reminder for the taking of a dose of medicine.

Abstract: A system for managing the fluid intake of a person is disclosed. The system consists of multiple containers of various volumes, a common lid configured to incorporate a flow control valve, multiple flow control valves having varying flow rates, a date indicator ring incorporated circumferentially on said containers, a content indicator disposed on said lid, a chiller insert, and an optional slip on handle. The user selects a container based on the fluid needs of a person and a flow control valve based on the drinking ability of the person. The user fills the container with a drinkable fluid, and indicates the nature of the contents with the content indicator and the date of filling with the date indicator ring. The chiller insert allows the user to cool the contents without the possibility of dilution as with standard ice cubes.

Abstract: An indexing cap assembly indexes visual cues or indicia during an open and close cycle so as to help users more easily track container entry as for example with regard to medications so as to ensure proper dosage. The indexing cap assembly basically incorporates six components, including a cover construction, an indexing plate or wheel, a compression coil or spring, a push plate construction, a gear tray or swing plate construction, and an assembly ring. Indicia on one or more of the container, cap or externally applied ring is positioned when the user places the packaging on a flat surface such that at a predetermined location the previous dose or last dose is viewable by the user. Each indicia is associated with one edge of the polygonal peripheral side surface. A disk or sleeve member can be used to occlude indicia that is unrelated to the previous or next dose, and the disk or sleeve member can be operated by gravitational or magnetic forces without manipulation by the user.

Abstract: A medication bottle includes a container and a closure removably fastened thereto. The closure includes a dial having an exterior surface with a series of indicia imprinted thereon, and an interior surface having a handle that protrudes therefrom. Each indicia represents a time increment at which a next pill dosage is required to be taken by a user. The exterior surface of the closure includes a window that exposes a particular indicia. Upon removing the closure from the container, the user can rotate the dial via the handle in order to expose in the window the next time increment a dose is required to be consumed. The dial can only be rotated after the closure is removed from the pill container. Upon replacing the closure onto the container, the selected indicator remains immovable and represents an accurate reminder for the next time a dose is required to be taken.

Abstract: Disclosed is a medical scheduling system to keep the users of medically prescribed medication on their medication-taking schedule. The Med-Sked™ Tab System is a series of Day/Dose tabs that indicate the medication schedule or calendar and confirms that the schedule has been adhered to, when the appropriate tabs are removed. This procedure eliminates the confusion associated with the taking of medication. It assists the user in complying with, and with specificity to prescription and non-prescription medication scheduling. Using a tab residue, It confirms that this has been accomplished when the appropriate Day/Dose Tab has been removed.
