Abstract: Described herein is a system for a mobile platform includes a storage compartment that defines an interior space. The storage compartment forms part of the mobile platform. Further, the storage compartment is operable to physically separate the interior space from an exterior space. The system also includes a visual indicator that provides to the exterior space a visual indication of a storage capacity status of the interior space of the storage compartment.

Abstract: A device indicates a ready and/or upset condition of a ground supported goal such as a soccer goal that has at least one bar that lies in contact with the ground. An indicator arm is movable relative to the contact arm between a ready position and an upset position. A contact arm cooperates with. A biasing element biases the indicator arm to the upset position. When the bar of the goal is no longer in contact with the ground the indicator arm moves from the ready position to the upset position.

Abstract: The dispenser has a body (1), with a mouthpiece cover (2). Opening of the cover urges a junction member (3) towards a source (4) of a medicament to be released as a dose by pressing a spout (5) of the source inwards of the source. The source is supported by a cap (11) clipped to the end of a source-enclosing barrel (12) with intern al splines (10). The barrel is welded (15) to the main to part (16) of the body at a position determined by the extension of the source towards the distal end (17) of the barrel when the cover is open, the welding position being determined by a plug (18) simulating the cap and its bush.

Abstract: A loader bucket orientation indicating system is provided for a bucket pivotal at an end of a loader boom. The system includes a support member having a base fixed to a side of an arm of the boom and a shaft projecting from the base. A pivot plate includes a central hub rotatably mounted on the shaft and an arm projecting outwardly from the central hub. An outer end of the arm forming a visible bucket position indicator. A linkage couples the bucket to the pivot plate so that the pivot plate rotates clockwise and counter-clockwise as the bucket rotates clockwise and counter-clockwise, respectively, with respect to the boom. A rotary device has a base fixed with respect to the boom arm, and has a rotary member coupled to the base by a non-rigid coupling. The rotary member has a visible mark thereon. The position of the bucket position indicator relative to the mark provides an indication of bucket orientation.

Abstract: An indicating device suitable for indicating the number of metered dosages that have been dispensed from or remain in a container includes a base member adapted to be mounted to the container and a cap member moveably connected to the base member. The cap member is moveable relative to the base member along an axial path. A shaft is non-rotatably mounted to one of the cap member and the base member and defines an axis. An indicator member is rotatably mounted on the shaft and is rotatable in at least a first direction. One of the shaft and the indicator member has a helical groove while the other of the shaft and the indicator member has a follower disposed in the groove. The indicator member is moveable relative to the shaft along the axis as the indicator member is rotated in the first direction. In another embodiment, the indicating device includes first, second and third indicator members.

Abstract: A file marker device adapted for use with a folder. The folder to which the device can be affixed comprises a front flap having a first top edge, a rear flap connected to the front flap by a folder bottom, the rear flap having a second top edge. Hanging folders often also comprise a plurality of equally spaced parallel slots near at least a first or second top edge. The file marker device can comprise a support portion having two opposed end tabs, each of the end tabs being capable of engaging one of the plurality of equally spaced parallel slots; and an indicator arm moveably attached to the support portion, the indicator arm being moveable about a pivot point from a first position to a second position. In some embodiments the file marker device also comprises a shield portion and/or a portion adapted for exhibiting identifying indicia.

Abstract: Reminders of daily or other periodic tasks are most desirable when they are simple to operate and easily distinguishable. A reusable device that provides tracking of task performance by multiple independently movable arms that lock into position provides a clear visual cue as to use and eliminates potential unintentional movement of the arms. The arms can be pivotally or slidably mounted to a base. The pivotal mounting can include a mechanical hinge or a flexible material providing a living hinge. The lock releasably secures the arms independently in two or more positions indicating to the user the performance of a task such as taking a medication one or more times during a day or other period of time. At the end of the cycle of use, usually one week, the arms may be reset and the device used again. The device may be small enough and include a fastener to mount it to a pill bottle, specific to what is in need of reminding the user.

Abstract: A fishing reel having a frame and an operating mechanism on the frame. The operating mechanism includes a line canying spool with a first structure operable for directing line onto the spool. Settable structure on the spool can be placed selectively in at least first and second different states which are each detectable by a user. The settable structure is placeable selectively in the first state to give a user a detectable indication that a first type of line is on the spool and in a second state to give the user a detectable indication that a second type of line is on the spool.

Abstract: Indicators and methods of indicating are disclosed. Intended primarily for use with medicine containers, the devices typically indicate the number of doses of medication ingested or remaining to be taken by a patient during a particular period. These devices additionally provide tactile assistance to patients in appropriately repositioning the indicator arms and, when used correctly, may reduce the possibility of patient overdose by restricting improper attempts to advance the indicator arm.

Abstract: A signaling device for raising a warning flag or pennant deployed on a motor boat to indicate that a water skier towed by the boat has fallen is disclosed which reliably raises a flag either manually when triggered by the motor boat operator or passenger, or automatically when the tow rope is released, thereby indicating to other boats in the vicinity that the water skier has fallen into the water. The heart of the device is a gear motor assembly operated by a DC motor, which is used to drive a flag pole containing a flag between lowered and deployed positions. Movement of the gear motor assembly is limited to ninety degrees by two micro switches, which remove power to the motor when an extreme position is reached.

Abstract: An alerting mechanism integrated with a hand-held whistle utilizing a structural member having a first and a second surface. The structural member is secured to the whistle or a cavity found in the whistle structure, to permit the structural member to rotate and be held between a first and a second position. The first position exposes the first surface of the structural member while the second position exposes the second surface of the structural member. Coloration or other marking may be employed on the first surface to visually distinguish the first surface from the second surface.

Abstract: A device for use on ski boats is disclosed which provides a warning to other boats in the area that a downed water skier is in the water by using a motorized electrical device to raise a flag, either automatically when a skier falls and the tow rope is released, or manually when triggered by the motor boat operator or passenger. The device electrically raises the warning flag, and maintains it in an upright position until the skier grasps the tow rope handle, or until the operator releases the manual trigger switch, at which time the flag is returned to a lowered position by a spring. The system of the present invention may be used with one or more water skiers, and uses a positive switch indicator rather than depending on the degree tension in the tow rope.

Abstract: A fluid level indicating apparatus includes a piston and cylinder assembly which is located adjacent the surface of a body of fluid contained within fluid reservoir and includes openings to admit such fluid thereinto with the piston in one extreme axial position, and to vent air from the cylinder but restrict fluid flow therefrom during movement of the piston from the extreme axial position. The piston is connected by a link to a pivotally mounted level indicating plate which pivots in conjunction with pivotal movement of an actuator element (e.g. the hinged cap of the fluid reservoir closure) to a position indicating the level of fluid in the reservoir. The actuator element is releasably connected to the indicator plate in a manner to cooperate with the restriction of fluid flow from the cylinder upon piston movement to position the indicator plate at an appropriate level indicating position for any given fluid level within the indicating range of the apparatus.

Abstract: Stock price tracking apparatus includes a base having at least one side; a chart removably mounted on each side and each chart including a first scale and a second scale; a lever associated with each side for monitoring a stock price to determine when to sell or retain a stock, each lever removably and pivotally mounted on the respective side along the first scale at a selected position corresponding to a stop loss setting, each lever including a pointer for pointing to a second stock price along the second scale as the lever is pivoted on the base about the selected position, and a channel extending along each lever; a retaining spring for releasably retaining each lever in a selected pivoted position; and a ball movable in each channel between a first position when the second stock price is above the stop loss setting and a second position when the second stock price is not greater than the stop loss setting for indicating when to sell or retain the stock.

Abstract: A safety flag bus, which includes a spring-loaded recoil pulley carrying a length of cable extending from the pulley around a bushing attached to the hinge mechanism of a conventional stop arm attached to the bus. The cable extends through one end of a flag storage pipe attached to the stop arm and through a slot in the pipe, around a pulley attached to the flared opposite end of the pipe, to a point of fixed attachment to the bus. A flexible flag rod extends into the flared end of the flag storage pipe and one end of the rod is secured to the cable extending through the pipe, while the other end carries a flag normally located inside the pipe when the device is in retracted configuration. Activation causes extension of the flag storage pipe outwardly of the bus, extension of the cable from the recoil pulley and projection of a portion of the flag rod from the flag storage pipe to extend the flag outside of the flared end.

Abstract: A casing for holding a key in one of two pivoted positions. The key pivots about an axis extending along one edge thereof when a lock is turned by the user of the key. An indicator may be attached to the key for extension through a small opening in the casing or housing when the key is in one position and for retraction below the level of the casing periphery when the key is in the opposite position. In a second embodiment, a portion of the casing may be pierced along three edges and arranged so that, when the key is in one position, the pierced portion is pushed above the casing periphery and, when the key is pivoted to the second position, the pierced portion is coextensive with or below the casing periphery. In a third embodiment, an indicator may be pivotally fastened in position between halves of the casing for movement (a) above and (b) even with or below the periphery of the casing when the key is pivoted.

Abstract: An adjustable thermostat as disclosed having an adjustment stem journaled for rotation on the thermostat body for adjusting the operating temperature of the thermostat. Mounted on the adjusting stem is a pointer member formed of deformable material such as Nylon and providing a peripheral surface which engages with interference stationary surfaces on the thermostat body. Interengagement is provided between the peripheral surface and the stationary surfaces which causes deformation of the pointer member and creates friction resisting rotation of the pointer and of the adjusting stem. A detent-like structure is provided by flats formed on the peripheral surface of the pointer which mate with the corresponding surfaces of the body to tend to lock the pointer and in turn adjusting stem at a predetermined temperature.
