Patent number: 6598556Abstract: The present invention is an aerodynamic wind riding antenna ornament comprising a main body adapted to be rotatably and slidably attached to an antenna mast. The main body has an aerodynamic lifting surface to harness airflow from the movement of a vehicle to move the ornament up and down the antenna mast. The main body also has an aperture of sufficient size to allow for the device to freely slide up and down an antenna mast. Retaining means is removably coupled to the aerodynamic lifting surface near the aperture to prevent the aerodynamic wind riding antenna ornament from sliding off the top of the antenna. The retaining means can comprise a snap-on clip, spring-like clip, or a portion of an ornamental figure removably coupled to the main body. Optional stopper clamps can be removably coupled to the antenna to restrict where the device travels on the antenna. The device can have optically perceived indicia to increase the appearance.Type: GrantFiled: December 26, 2001Date of Patent: July 29, 2003Assignee: Jim McCafferty Productions, Inc.Inventor: Ron Peters

Patent number: 5905434Abstract: A vehicle communications system having a remote control unit installed in the interior of a vehicle and a display unit located on the exterior of the vehicle. The display unit has an input from the remote control unit and an input from a vehicle interface module that has inputs from the vehicle such as the braking system and the turning signal system. The remote control unit is controllable by the driver in the vehicle and has a table of preset and preprogrammed messages selectable by the driver. The driver selects a message to be displayed and sends the message to the display unit. Any input to the vehicle interface module from the vehicle signaling systems overrides the signal input from the remote control unit unless the display unit is mounted on the front of the vehicle. The driver can select a message from a table of messages that are sequentially displayed on the remote control unit. The table of messages is stored on a flash memory in the remote unit and in a flash memory in the display unit.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 1997Date of Patent: May 18, 1999Inventors: Paul J. Patent number: 5589814Abstract: Considering the latest vehicle anti-theft systems and anti-theft warning systems that abound today, the theft of vehicles has not been slowed down to any appreciable amount. In fact, the car theft industry lids virtually kept pace with the car manufacturing industry. This invention has taken a common sense and practical approach to an anti-vehicle theft system that renders the front windshield opaque when the ignition switch is turned on and the vehicle is attempted to be stolen, while the security control switch is placed in the "on" mode. One embodiment was a thermopane type windshield with a space between two plates of unbreakable glass. The space between the two plates of glass has an opaque curtain or blind pulled up inside the void space from the bottom of the windshield to the top of the windshield to render the entire windshield opaque. Another embodiment is to provide several optional features that may be purchased by persons with limited funds although these options are not really required.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 1994Date of Patent: December 31, 1996Inventor: John Smith, Jr.

Patent number: 5426414Abstract: The enhanced auxiliary signaling device of the present invention includes a housing mounted on the rear of a vehicle with a control unit electrically connected to the vehicle electrical system and to a display panel on the housing to display various alphanumeric and graphic messages in response to activation of signals in the vehicle electrical system. The activation of a vehicle turn signal will cause a first alphanumeric message to be displayed along with a first graphic display. The second turn signal will display the first alphanumeric message along with a second graphic display. Activation of both turn signals will activate a second alphanumeric message, simultaneous with the first and second graphic displays. The activation of the vehicle brakes will activate a second alphanumeric message and a third graphic display.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 1993Date of Patent: June 20, 1995Inventors: Jerry Flatin, Dale T.
