Publication number: 20110253040Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for forming a composite membrane with a porous coating layer. At first, a filling process is carried out to fill the pores of a porous substrate with a liquid. Next, a raw material is transformed into melt or incomplete melt droplets by a heating source and the droplets are sprayed to the surface of the porous substrate filled with the liquid. The liquid is evaporated by the high temperature droplets and plasma flame to become vapor and the vapor breaks through the droplets to have the droplets sputter into different blocks to thereby form random and dispersed flat particles after cooled. Flat particles are formed and stacked continuously so as to form a composite membrane with a porous coating layer. Moreover, the invention provides an apparatus for forming a composite membrane with a porous coating layer.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 30, 2011Publication date: October 20, 2011Applicant: CHUNG YUAN CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITYInventors: Kuo-Lun Tung, Chi-Chung Hsiung, Te-Cheng Ling, Kai-Shiun Chang

Publication number: 20100040775Abstract: In a method for the cold-gas spraying of particles having different solidities and/or ductilities and in a cold-gas spraying device (11) suitable for use in with the method, in order to obtain a comparatively high proportion of particles (23) having higher solidity and/or smaller ductility in comparison to the other particles (22), these particles are fed into an area (21) of the stagnation chamber (15) of the cold-gas spraying device which is very distant from the nozzle (14). Advantageously, the particles (23) have to cover a longer course through the stagnation chamber and are thus preheated. In this way, the deposition of these particles (23) on a substrate (25) is improved. Particularly metals having a transition temperature ranging between brittle and ductile behaviour can be provided with ductile properties by the preheating process, thereby simplifying the deposition process.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 7, 2008Publication date: February 18, 2010Inventors: Axel Arndt, Uwe Pyritz, Heike Schiewe, Raymond Ullrich

Publication number: 20100040857Abstract: A method and apparatus for making a reactive polymer pre-impregnated reinforcement material, comprising applying a substantially non-volatile composition of substantially solid particles of a reactive thermoset resin to a porous substrate at ambient temperature, initially by melting a first portion of the particles of the reactive thermoset resin. The first portion of the particles of the reactive thermoset resin flows into interstices of at least one layer of the porous substrate and a remaining portion of the particles of the substantially non-volatile composition remains solid.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 24, 2009Publication date: February 18, 2010Applicant: IQ TEC SWITZERLAND GMBHInventor: Marcel Jakob Schubiger

Patent number: 7654223Abstract: A cold spray apparatus having a powder preheating device, capable of obtaining high deposition rate and excellent coating layer under the same spray processing conditions by preheating coating powder before a coating process. Also, a manufacturing method of nano-structured super-high hardness WC—Co coating having high abrasive wear resistance and fracture toughness obtained by spraying WC—Co powder using the cold spray apparatus. In the cold spray apparatus, a gas controller controls gas supply amount of main gas and residual gas (gas that is not supplied toward the main gas), and a gas heater heats the main gas supplied under the control of the gas controller. A powder feeder receives the residual gas under the control of the gas controller and supplies a coating powder together with the residual gas. A powder preheating device preheats the coating powder supplied from the powder feeder, and a mixing chamber mixes the heated main gas with the preheated coating powder.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2004Date of Patent: February 2, 2010Assignee: Research Institute of Industrial Science & TechnologyInventors: Hyung-Jun Kim, Young-Gak Kweon

Patent number: 7647884Abstract: A slit coater with a standby unit for a nozzle and a coating method using the same prevents environmental pollution by solvent steam and simultaneously maintains the slit nozzle in an optimum state. When in standby and not performing a coating application, the slit nozzle is kept in a standby unit having a solvent atmosphere therein. The slit coater includes: a table on which an object to be processed is positioned; a slit nozzle for applying a coating solution onto a surface of the object; and a standby unit into which the slit nozzle is loaded when on standby, and having a shutter at the opening thereof to maintain an inner space in a substantially hermetically sealed solvent atmosphere. The atmosphere in the standby unit is configured to prevent hardening of the coating solution in the slit nozzle and thereby maintain the slit nozzle in the optimum state for providing coating applications.Type: GrantFiled: August 19, 2005Date of Patent: January 19, 2010Assignee: LG. Patent number: 7640885Abstract: In a nozzle unit 4 equipped with processing-liquid nozzles 4A to 4J, an air layer 73 and a solvent layer 74 for processing liquid are successively formed outside a processing-liquid layer 71 included in the tip of each nozzle 4A (4B to 4J). Next, the solvent layer 74 in the nozzle 4A is thrown out into a drain part 62 of a standby unit 6 and subsequently, the processing liquid is supplied from the nozzle 4A to the surface of a wafer W, performing a coating process. After completing the coating process, the processing liquid remaining in the nozzle 4A is sucked and continuously, respective tips of the nozzles 4A to 4J are dipped into respective solvents in solvent reservoir 62A to 62J, respectively. From this state, by sucking in the nozzle 4A, there are newly formed, outside the processing layer 71 in the tip of the nozzle 4A, an air layer 73 and a solvent layer 74.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2007Date of Patent: January 5, 2010Assignee: Tokyo Electron LimitedInventors: Tsunenaga Nakashima, Kenji Urata, Shinji Okada, Nobuaki Matsuoka

Patent number: 7628862Abstract: A resin block has a treating solution channel extending between and opening at front and back surfaces thereof. Heat conductive members are face-bonded to the front and back surfaces of the resin block, respectively, for closing the channel. Consequently, no air is present between the resin block and heat conduction members, thereby improving the efficiency of heat exchange. A nozzle of simple construction is realized only by face-bonding the two heat conductive members to the open front and rear surfaces of the resin block. Temperature control plates hold the heat conductive members along with the resin block to effect a temperature control, whereby the temperature of a treating solution in the treating solution channel is controlled effectively through the heat conductive members. The treating solution adjusted to a desired temperature is delivered from a discharge opening to a substrate for performing substrate treatment with high accuracy.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 2006Date of Patent: December 8, 2009Assignee: Dainippon Screen Mfg. Publication number: 20090283032Abstract: A nozzle assembly for a kinetic spray system includes a convergent portion, a throat portion, and a divergent portion, each cooperating together to define a passage therethrough for passing a mixture of powder particles suspended in a flow of a high pressure heated gas. The nozzle assembly further includes an extension portion attached to the divergent portion and extending to a distal end a pre-determined length from the divergent portion of the nozzle assembly. The extension portion permits a dragging force exerted on the powder particles by the flow of high pressure heated gas to act upon the powder particles for a longer duration of time, thereby permitting the powder particles to accelerate to a greater velocity than has been previously achievable.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 8, 2009Publication date: November 19, 2009Applicant: F.
