  • Patent number: 8334009
Abstract: An electrode producing method by an electrode producing apparatus has an inclining step of pressing a surface of a current collector sheet with projections extending outwardly from the surface, which is conveyed in a definite direction, to incline the projections in a direction opposite to the definite direction of the current collector sheet; and an applying step of applying a coating solution onto the current collector sheet, the projections of which have been inclined in the inclining step and which is conveyed in the definite direction, by a slit die. After the surface of the current collector sheet is pressed to incline the projections on the sheet surface in the opposite direction to the conveyance direction, the coating solution is applied onto the surface. Therefore, the coating solution can be uniformly applied onto the current collector sheet.

  • Patent number: 6342102
Abstract: In a dip forming process the core material to be coated is introduced directly into a source block of coating material eliminating the need for a bushing entrance component. The process containment vessel or crucible is heated so that only a portion of the coating material becomes molten, leaving a solid portion of material as the entrance port of, and seal around, the core material. The crucible can contain molten and solid metals and is especially useful when coating core material with reactive metals. The source block of coating material has been machined to include a close tolerance hole of a size and shape to closely fit the core material. The core material moves first through the solid portion of the source block of coating material where the close tolerance hole has been machined, then through a solid/molten interface, and finally through the molten phase where the diameter of the core material is increased.

Abstract: A bitumen-based waterproofing membrane is provided with an improved edge for sealing with a contiguous membrane to provide a membrane system with improved waterproofing characteristics. A bitumen-based reinforced membrane sheet is coated with granular material to protect the membrane sheet from ultraviolet rays. However, a section of the membrane sheet is first covered with a piece of protective tape which prevents any granular material from being deposited on the lateral section of exposed bitumen beneath the tape. The membrane sheets are then cut immediately prior to the tape or at the edge of the granular coating and then rolled up. Accordingly, the lateral section of bitumen which is covered by the protective tape is on the innermost part of the rolled-up membrane sheet. During installation, the tape is removed and the exposed bitumen or selvage section is disposed below an adjacent or contiguous membrane. Heat is then applied for an easy and effective seal between two adjacent membrane sheets.

When the base material passes through the low-viscosity liquid, air contained in the base material is replaced with the low-viscosity liquid and discharged outside the apparatus. The low-viscosity liquid impregnated in the material is vaporized in the thermal syphon region.

Abstract: A method for treating the interior surfaces of holes as well as the surfaces of a perforated workpiece by dipping it into treating liquid includes a step of causing treating liquid to flow at both ends of the holes in a direction perpendicular to these holes at different velocities. In order to create these liquid flows at different velocities, the workpiece is dipped in the liquid so that the holes extend substantially horizontally, and air bubble jets are alternately delivered along both ends of the holes, or fins are provided at locations adjacent both ends of the holes so as to extend outwardly upwardly at one side of the hole ends and extend outwardly downwardly at the other side of the hole ends, and these fins are moved upwardly and downwardly.
