  • Patent number: 11604423
Abstract: A remaining toner amount detection device includes four electrodes and a controller. Each electrode has an arc shape along an outer circumferential surface of a toner bottle, and the four electrodes are spaced a certain distance apart in a circumferential direction so as to surround the toner bottle. The controller detects a remaining toner amount inside the toner bottle by using the four electrodes. The controller determines whether at least one of a first electrostatic capacity value between one pair of adjacent electrodes and a second electrostatic capacity value between the other pair of adjacent electrodes falls within a threshold range. In response to determination that at least one of the electrostatic capacity values falls within the threshold range, the controller detects a remaining toner amount inside the toner bottle based on an electrostatic capacity value, and outputs the detected remaining toner amount.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling coating material deposition on to a medical device. Images of material drops in flight are captured and an average single drop volume value is calculated by conversion of the captured drop images to a volume measurement. The average single drop volume value is used to calculate a total number of drops necessary to apply a desired amount of coating. Alternately, material is applied and the amount of material deposited is accumulated and adjustments are made to deposit only a desired amount of coating material. A drop volume is determined for either every drop or a sampling of drops as the drops are being applied. Adjustments to the coating process include changing drop size and changing a number of drops to be deposited.

Abstract: In a photoresist dispensing apparatus for use in manufacturing a semiconductor device, to coercively emit photoresist from a bottle by using a dispensing pump and to pass it through a supply line and a filter to obtain a filtering operation, and to spray the filtered photoresist to a wafer through a spraying nozzle; a bubble removal unit is equipped with the supply line, before the dispensing pump. Large and micro bubbles generated in the midst of flow of photoresist, and foreign substances, are substantially filtered off so as to supply photoresist of a good quality. A floating load in a foreign substance removal filter is substantially removed, thus spraying photoresist under an always uniform and stabilized pressure by using a dispensing pump, to cover a wafer with photoresist in a uniform thickness and obtain a precise pattern formation.

A nozzle, through which a molten paste of a thermoplastic material kept molten is discharged, is disposed toward an inner peripheral surface of a cylinder. The nozzle is moved along a rotational central line of the cylinder while rotating the cylinder and discharging the molten paste from the nozzle. Centrifugal force acting on the cylinder being rotated leads to spreading of the molten paste applied to the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder. Viscosity of the molten paste, a rotational speed of the cylinder and a speed of movement of the nozzle are set so as to keep the molten paste discharged from the nozzle from being scattered to a region other than the coated region.
