Including Vehicle Patents (Class 119/202)
  • Patent number: 10750732
Abstract: A system is provided that promotes ram ventilation for aquatic animals stored therein. The system includes a horizontally oriented container that maintains fluid flow in one predominant direction with a first end of the horizontally oriented container receiving a first volume of fluid and a second end expelling a second volume of fluid. The second end is provided at an opposite side of the horizontally oriented container than the first end. A slot is provided that extends along a lengthwise direction of the horizontally oriented container between the first and second ends. The slot is positioned along an upper portion of the horizontally oriented container. For example, if the horizontally oriented container is tube-shaped, the slot is provided at an uppermost point on the circumference of a horizontally oriented tube directly across from a point on the tube that contacts an underlying surface such a transom of the fishing vessel.

  • Patent number: 8490568
Abstract: The present invention relates to a vessel for handling of contagious or dead fish comprising: a hull with a generally closed deck (5), and an inlet (15) for receiving the fish externally to a fish grinder (11) arranged for grinding the fish through the grinder (11) and arranged for delivering ground fish mass to a closed, internal grinder tank (8) in the vessel, the grinder tank (8) arranged for receiving ensiling liquid from a chemical dosing plant (12) to the ground fish mass. In the vessel according to the invention the dosing plant (12) may be arranged for dosing ensiling liquid into the ground mass proportional to the amount of fish supplied to the grinder tank (8).

  • Patent number: 8267044
Abstract: An aquatic mammal rescue device and method includes an array of suction cup lifters that adapt to contact and adhere to the body of an aquatic mammal on land or at the surface of water. The array is lifted to raise the aquatic mammal from the ground or water for transport. The rescue device may be part of a vehicle capable of land, sea, and/or air travel or it may be movable by attachment to a separate vehicle of other lifting mechanism (e.g., crane). The device may be used to transport a beached mammal (e.g., a whale) back to the water or to a treatment facility. It may also be used to take an injured animal from the wild or a tank to a treatment facility.

  • Patent number: 8141931
Abstract: A moveable roof for a transportable tank for fish includes a roof platform attached to spaced roof joists secured at opposing ends to parallel headers laterally spaced and traversing a length of the roof platform. At least two pair of support arms is included, with each pair mounted on opposite sides of the tank. Further, each support arm has an upper support arm portion and a lower support arm portion. The upper and lower support arm portions are attached at a support arm pivot point. The lower support arm portion is pivotally attached to the corresponding sidewall of the tank and the upper support arm portion is pivotally attached to the header above said corresponding sidewall. Still further, a crank is positioned between the support arms of each pair of support arms.

  • Publication number: 20090255479
Abstract: A moveable vehicle such as a truck, railway carriage, or the like is structured and dimensioned to enable the transportation of products including live aquatic species, such as fish in a refrigerated condition. The vehicle includes insulating and heat exchange layers which, when utilized to transport live aquatic species, may maintain them in a dormant state by temperature controls within the refrigeration system. A water spraying assembly provides a humidity and oxygen level for disposing of waste and also enables the spraying of fog to provide effective humidity between spraying cycles. Any existing animal waste is treated in the water and a recirculation or closed loop system is provided. A product storage area facilitates loading and unloading and a separate storage room may be provided to house the systems equipment or optionally may be attached to the vehicle.
