  • Patent number: 6840192
Abstract: An air supply organizer for an aquarium that provides forced air from an air pump outside of the aquarium to decorative accessories in the aquarium. The air supply organizer comprises a vertical tube that runs from the top of the aquarium, along the side of the aquarium to the bottom of the aquarium. There it is coupled to a horizontal tube that runs along the bottom of the aquarium. The vertical tube and horizontal tube are frictionally coupled by an L-shaped joint piece. Flexible plastic tubing runs from the air pump through the vertical tube and the horizontal tube, providing forced air to decorative aquarium accessories. The horizontal tube and L-shaped joint piece are able to be concealed under sand or gravel on the base of the aquarium permitting the flexible plastic tubing to reach the decorative accessories without being visible.

  • Patent number: 6273025
Abstract: An aquarium water circulation system for providing improved water circulation to a saltwater aquarium by simulating a natural wave motion. The inventive device includes a container having an interior portion, a plurality of upper slots within the container, a plurality of lower slots within the container, a shaft having a first threading and a second threading, a plunger member threadably attached about the shaft and slidably positioned within the container, and a motor mechanically connected to the shaft for rotating the shaft. As the plunger member is forced downwardly, the water within the container is forced out from the lower slots and into the upper slots. When the plunger member is forced upwardly, the water within the container is forced out from the upper slots and into the lower slots simulating wave motions.

  • Patent number: 6187394
Abstract: The present invention of a Bubbling Liquid Display includes a variable-pressure air source which injects air into a liquid within a panel at variable flow rates into an number of individual chambers to create a unique bubbling pattern for each chamber which includes large bubbles which move upwards within the fluid in the display, and smaller bubbles which move downwards within the fluid in the display. The display may be drained a single chamber at a time, eliminating the need to completely drain the display for maintenance, and also is substantially leak-proof, despite being tipped or knocked over. The display incorporates a fluid which resists evaporation, corrosion, and algae formation, despite being constantly bubbled or exposed to sunlight or other sources of heat, and which may be effectively recirculated through the display. The display is also adaptable to retrofit vending machines, as well as a variety of other useful items, such as point-of-purchase displays and wall-hangings.

  • Patent number: 5947784
Abstract: A device that produces toroidal bubbles of gaseous fluid when operated in immersed relation to a body of liquid fluid. A first embodiment is operated by a person who blows into a first end of the device with a short burst of air, and a second embodiment is operated by a pneumatic pump that delivers a short burst of air to the first end. A normally closed valve such as a poppet valve is positioned on a second end of the device. The valve opens and closes very rapidly in response to the burst of air. Air escaping around the peripheral border of the valve creates a toroidal bubble that expands in volume as it approaches the surface of the liquid fluid; the effect is visually pleasing. The valve of the device may also be held in the mouth, eliminating the conduit. In additional embodiments, the source of gaseous fluid is any pneumatically-charged device.

  • Patent number: 5469811
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved leak-proof device for a bubbling port of an aquarium comprising a water tank, a base cover and a base disc, the water tank having a bubbling port on the bottom, and an exhaust outlet setting with a check valve. The base cover has an integrally molded communication connector, and on top of the connector, a check valve. The base disc has an air pump with a connected conduit. With the assembly of these members, air produced from the air pump may enter water tank for bubbling, and because of the check valve and related devices on the water tank and base cover, the bubbling port on the base, of the water tank has double leak-proof effect.
