The perch extension may optionally define protuberances to provide a snap-fit or press-fit engagement with the bird feeder perch.

Abstract: A filing device that allows an animal to have its nails trimmed without human interaction or interference. The filing device includes a casing, a rod, a wall, housing, cap, motor, motor cover and power source. The rod is concentrically nested within the casing and covered in a grit material. The casing has a cutout on its bottom or top surface that allows the rod to be exposed. The rod is powered by a motor and when the power is turned on it causes the rod to rotate. An animal may mount itself on the casing of the filing device. When the motor is turned on it vibrates the device which causes the quick within the animal's vein to retract. As the animal sits on the casing its nails are exposed to the rotating rod which causes the nails to be filed.

Abstract: A movable partition is usable with an animal kennel to change the size of the reposable region of the kennel within which an animal can be disposed during the animal's period of growth. The reposable region is situated between the kennel door and the movable partition. The movable partition is mountable to ventilation openings formed in the animal kennel and is movable among a variety of distances from the kennel door to change the size of the reposable region within the kennel in order to properly train the animal and to avoid the animal relieving itself within the kennel. The partition includes a barrier element and a number of mounting elements that are mountable to the ventilation openings of the kennel. The movable partition further includes a number of clip apparatuses that are cooperable with the mounting elements to retain the mounting elements mounted to the ventilation openings.

Abstract: An avian hut includes a plurality of walls, each wall having an upper edge and a lower edge and coupled to at least one other of the plurality of walls, the plurality of walls together defining an avian hut interior and an avian hut exterior, the lower edges together defining an opening open to the environment, and at least one of the plurality of walls defining a notch shaped to accept a perch secured to an interior of a bird enclosure thereby allowing the perch to extend from the exterior of the avian hut into the interior of the avian hut. A securing device is operable to removably secure the plurality of walls within a bird cage and the notch above the perch.

The apparatus comprises a pole member having a predetermined length and formed of a predetermined material. A first means is engageable with a top portion of the pole member and with such bird cage for connection of the pole member to a top portion of such bird cage; and a second means is disposed on a bottom portion of such pole member for connecting at least one peg member to such pole member, such at least one peg member providing a place for such bird's feet to grasp when such bird is swinging.

Abstract: A bird cage ladder equipped with a locking connection mechanism that is biased toward a closed position and is easy to install and remove from a bird cage is disclosed herein. Particular embodiments of the present invention have the flexibility to connect with various shaped bird cages. Other embodiments provide additional ladder stability by limiting the range of movement of the ladder from side-to-side. Utilization of a locking connection mechanism as disclosed makes it very difficult for the ladder to disengage from the bird cage due to rocking caused by a bird. The locking connection mechanisms are releasably connected to the bird cage and bird cage ladder, allowing the bird cage ladder to be easily installed and removed from the bird cage.

The cylindrical housing is formed of a heat conductive material. An electrical heating element is encased in the cylindrical housing. A temperature sensor is encased in the cylindrical housing. The perch offers two safe smooth sides for the bird to stand on to protect the tender pads of the bird's feet from harsh abbrasive surfaces; along with smooth ridges and rounded radiuses to exercise the birds leg and feet muscles. The other two sides have the coarse texture, needed to keep the birds nails in a naturally healthy state of trim. A connection assembly, which acceptably includes a threaded rod, two fender washers and a nut, are used to mount the entire bird safety pedicure perch apparatus to a bird cage or similar structure. The perch is preferably made of a solid, abrasive material, such as concrete or resin with a gritty aggregate material embedded therein, so that the abrasive properties of the material preferably stay constant.

Abstract: A modular birdhouse in accordance with the present invention includes a support pole, a collar, at least one wire form and at least one nest module. First, the collar is slidably connected to the pole. The wire form has a square shape, and the ends of the wire form are upturned and inserted into corresponding openings in the collar. The collar includes coordinated flanges with fasteners that fix the wire forms to the collar. Two or more collars can be interconnected in a stacked manner to create tiers of nest modules. Each nest module has a plurality of connector slots. For attachment, the nest module is positioned within the square shape of the wire form and then rotated until the connector slots of the nest module engage the wire form. A porch structure interconnects the wire form to the nest module to prevent further rotation and disengagement of the nest module. Nest modules may be added or removed from the wire forms as desired by the operator and without the use of tools and/or implements.

These features make the cleaning of the bird cage easier. In a preferred embodiment, the bird cage also includes a removable top portion (24) which is selectively connected to a bottom portion (22). The feeder includes a clamping mechanism for clamping onto a wall of a cage, and an extension bar extending from the clamping mechanism to the interior of the cage, and a receptacle which holds a feeder cup affixed at the interior end of the extension bar. By positioning the feeder cup away from a wall of the cage, the extension bar of the invention provides numerous advantages. Positioning the feeder cup away from a cage wall prevents the scattering of feed outside of a cage, improves the ability of a watcher to watch feeding, and improves the accessibility of the feeder cup for easy removal and replacement of the feeder cup.

A cage assembly is supported by the lower pan assembly and is capped by the upper pan assembly.
