Abstract: A method for mounting an animal container on the rear utility rack of an all terrain vehicle. The container has securement positions adapted to attach the container to the rear utility rack of an all terrain vehicle. There is a hinged door with a securement latch in the front wall of the container.

Abstract: A pet carrier (20) includes a cage like enclosure (22) having a top (24), a bottom (26), a front end (28), and an opposite rear end (30). Two spaced wheels (32) are connected to the cage like enclosure at the bottom rear end so that when the front end is lifted off of a support surface (500), the pet carrier can be rolled. A handle (34) is pivotally connected to the cage like enclosure at the top near the front end. The handle is selectively lockable in a plurality of angular positions allowing the height of the handle to be adjusted to accommodate users of different heights.

Abstract: The invention is directed to an animal carrier for use inside and outside of vehicles which comprises a cage-like enclosure having a top, a front, a rear, and a pair of sides intersecting with at least the front and a carriage for supporting the enclosure having a bottom, a front, a rear, and a pair of sides intersecting with at least the rear. Attachment members removably connect the cage with the carriage. At least one wedge is secured with the carriage rear and is adapted to be engaged with a seat belt of the vehicle for removably securing the carrier within the vehicle.

Abstract: A collapsible pet housing structure that includes a floor panel having a pair of parallel sides and a pair of ends extending between the sides. A pair of generally opposing walls are hingedly attached to the parallel sides of the floor panel, each wall including at least two generally planar wall panels hingedly connected to one another, each of the wall panels having an external surface and an internal surface, the internal surface of the wall panels of one wall facing the internal surface of the wall panels of the opposing wall, the hinged connection allowing movement of the wall panels from a first position where the external surfaces of the wall panels are at an acute angle relative to one another to a second position where the external surfaces of the wall panels are retained at an angle greater than 180 degrees relative to one another. The walls will preferably include supports for retaining the external surfaces of the wall panels at the second position relative to one another.

Abstract: A pet carrier with a container base (4) having a bottom surface (20), a plurality of side walls (22) that extend from the bottom surface to define a hollow interior compartment (24). A semi-cylindrical stationary convex top (6) is secured to the container base (4) so that the stationary convex top (6) partially covers the hollow interior compartment (24) to define an access opening (12) which is sized to allow a pet to pass readily therethrough. A semi-cylindrical convex lid (10) is rotatably connected to the container base (4), and the rotatable convex lid (10) is sized to completely cover the access opening (12), when rotatable convex lid (10) is in a closed position, and, when the rotatable convex lid (10) is moved to a second, open position, to allow access to the interior compartment (24).

Abstract: A pet carrier for use with bicycles particularly configured to allow installation at a forward position of a bicycle is presented. The particular configuration of the bottom surface of the pet carrier allows the carrier to be mounted in a forward position on a bicycle without interfering in the steering, braking, or gear shifting operations of the handlebars. Specifically, the pet carrier provides a plateaued or two-tiered surface that positions the carrier up and over the handlebars without interfering therewith. A lower bottom surface accommodates a pet's hindquarters, while the upper tiered surface accommodates the pet's forequarters. These two-tiered surfaces are separated by a sloped surface onto which the pet may rest during a bicycle ride. The carrier advantageously includes ventilation apertures or forward facing louvers to provide additional comfort to the pet.

Abstract: A small animal carrier is comprised of fabric formed in a rectangular parallelpiped shape with a collapsible wire metal cage positionable on support pads within the carrier. Recessed wheels are positioned on the bottom side of the carrier and are attached to a stiffening board which enhances the structural integrity of the carrier.

Abstract: A collapsible pet carrier of lightweight construction is disclosed. The endwalls are foldable onto the bottom, with the sidewalls foldable around the endwalls, allowing the straps to hold the bundle together when not in use. The carrier can be quickly assembled by pivoting the endwalls upwardly and fastening them to the sidewalls and securing the handles to each other. An optional storage pouch can be incorporated into the handle system and various windows in the side or endwalls can be provided to facilitate ventilation.

Abstract: A portable animal carrier is disclosed which permits the transportation of a small animal, such as a cat or dog, in the passenger compartment of an airplane, by securely and safely containing the animal, but permitting placement below the airplane seat. In addition to providing manual carrying of the portable animal carrier, wheels are provided to permit smooth, quiet, and reliable movement, thereby relieving the user from carrying the weight of the animal carrier.

Abstract: A portable pet barrier for temporary installation in an automotive vehicle, the vehicle having seating arrangements which feature removable headrests. The barrier is intended to restrict the movement of medium to large sized pets, for example, dogs, to portions of the vehicle not occupied by the driver or passengers. Typically, the barrier is installed across the backrest of the rear seating of a sport utility vehicle (SUV), minivan, or station wagon to confine the pet to the rear luggage/cargo portion of the vehicle. Without using tools or making threaded adjustments, installation of the barrier entails the engagement of two or more slidable bolts with coaxially aligned headrest sockets, the sockets becoming available for use after removal of the headrests. Inserted into headrest sockets and frictionally in contact with the resilient, compliant obstructive panel of the barrier, the bolts fasten and maintain position of the barrier across the top of the vehicle backrest.

Abstract: A modular animal transportation crate includes a plurality of panels that form the floor, walls, doors and ceiling of the crate. The panels are connected to each other by panel and section connectors. The panels may include perforations which protrude away from the animal. The perforations provide ventilation through side and top when used as walls or ceilings and assist in the removal of waste products when serving as the floor. The inventive crate is preferably made of a strong lightweight material that is easily assembled, disassembled and re-assembled. The crate may also be used to transport animals and to house the animals at remote locations.

Abstract: A fabric cover is provided for a portable dog kennel. Preferably, the cover is made from an insulative fabric having a camouflage pattern formed on its outer surface. The cover has a top, side, a front, a back, and a bottom. A doorway formed in the front of the cover to allow a dog to enter and exit the carrier and a door flap is provided to close the doorway. A window is formed in the sides of the cover to expose the vents of the kennel when applied to the kennel, and a window flap sized to close the window. The door of the cover is rollable and the cover includes fasteners to hold the door in an open position. Similarly, the window flap may be secured in an opened position and in a closed position. Side pockets are provided beneath the windows. Preferably, the window flaps are sufficiently long to cover or close the pockets when the flaps are down. The cover can also be provided with a mesh pocket and a clear document pocket.

Abstract: A pet carrier is provided which is adapted for use with tandem wheeled vehicles such as bicycles and motorcycles and has an open box like construction with a connecting means located in the back wall for securing a fastening device to a harness on the pet. The pet carrier includes structure to enable quick, easy and secure attachment and detachment from the associated vehicle. The connecting means in the back of the pet carrier enables the pet to be secured in comfort while being carried and transported.

Abstract: A pet carrier for safely transporting pets in a vehicle includes a basket having a floor and surrounding containment walls and a support assembly for mounting the carrier to a passenger seat of the vehicle so that pets restrained within the basket can easily view the outer surroundings through the vehicle's windows. The support assembly includes a pair of rear arm members movably adjustable to assume a select one of several locked, operable positions with a hooked distal end zone of the arm members resting over the top of the seat back to maintain the basket forward of the seat back, and a removable forward leg support depending below the basket for engagement with the seat base to thereby maintain the basket floor generally horizontal and above the seat base. Collapsible handles permit hand carrying of the carrier and pets therein when the carrier is removed from the vehicle and an adjustable strap in the basket attaches to the pet to restrain the pet within the carrier.

Abstract: A carrier includes a main unit and an insert unit. The main unit defines a carrying space having a closed bottom and four sides, one of which has an opening therethrough large enough to permit an animal to enter the space through the opening. The insert unit has a closed top, four sides, and an open bottom. After the animal has entered the main unit, the insert unit is lowered down into the main unit to close off the side opening. Then a foldable top closure for the main unit is folded to secure the carrier and form a handle structure for carrying the carrier. Both units are foldable and are structured to provide an enhanced strength carrier. Strength enhancing features include the foldable bottom of the main unit, double and triple thickness portions of the top closure, and the presence of the insert unit in the main unit.

Abstract: A carrying case for pet accessories. The carrying case includes a container having at least one compartment accommodating a variety of pet accessories. The container includes a closure for selectively opening and closing the container to permit access to the at least one compartment. The carrying case also includes a picture frame mounted on the outer surface of the container and an identifying picture of a pet housed within the picture frame.

Abstract: A pet carrier with adequate ventilation for even a large animal. The carrier has a handle which can be folded to conserve space and retractable wheels which can be placed in a down position when moving the carrier with the pet inside, or can be placed in an up or inactive position when mobility is not necessary or when it is desired to maintain the carrier in a stationary position.

Abstract: A box having a rectangular base with short upstanding front and rear walls and long upstanding side walls therebetween with an open top. The box also has a small rectangular opening in the front wall for the passage of a cat therethrough. A rectangular tray is positioned over the opened upper edge of the box. The tray has short front and rear walls with long side walls therebetween. A divider box is positioned parallel with, and centrally located between, the front and rear edges of the tray with a handle formed therethrough. The divider bar separates the tray into an eating area and a sleeping area. Removable coupling elements are located between the box and the lid. The coupling elements include apertures formed in the side walls of the box adjacent to the upper edges thereof. Clips are secured to the side walls of the tray adjacent to the lower edges thereof.

Abstract: A carrier for transporting a small pet on a bicycle includes a box-like container provided with a hatch that forms the front portion of the container top. The hatch is hinged at its back side and opens upwardly to allow the pet to extend its head from the container while facing forward. A pair of rails fixed to the container bottom are arranged to detachably couple to a rack that is mounted above the rear wheel, and behind the seat of a bicycle.

Abstract: A tote for transporting animals has a container, each having a unitary injection molded design. The interior of the container is provided with dividers to provide separate compartments for containing animals therein. The sides and lid of the tote have arrays of minute holes that provide air flow into the container, and filter material is provided to cover the air holes so that contaminated air is prevented from reaching the animals container therein. The filter material is held in place by filter frames provides for the lid and side walls of the tote. A water container is also provided in the container for providing a supply of water that is accessible to the animals.

Abstract: An animal restraint device comprising: a housing, having a compartment that is accessed through a closure having an aperture formed therethrough of a size sufficient to allow the neck and head of an animal, such as a dog or cat, to pass therethrough; a closure securing mechanism for securing the closure in a closed position; and an aperture size adjusting mechanism for adjusting the size of the aperture while the neck of an animal is disposed within the aperture to a size that prevents the animal from withdrawing its head through the aperture.
