  • Patent number: 5960744
Abstract: An expandable pet cage for animals, and a method for house-training pets of various sizes comprises two complimentary compartments that are in telescopic relation to each other, thereby providing an adjustable composite volume to house a pet. The adjustable composite volume facilitates using the natural instincts of the pet to resist excreting in the volume of the confinement, thus resulting in house-training the pet. The adjustable volume also can be relied on to hold an animal securely and safely during transporting, and provides an efficient enclosure for drying a pet after grooming. Also, the adjustable composite volume provides the pet owner with the convenience of only having to purchase one cage even if dogs of various sizes are to utilize the cage at different times and for different purposes.

  • Patent number: 5839392
Abstract: A corrugated plastic pet carrier has a base panel with two side panels. A side panel fold line extends between the base panel and each side panel. The side panels terminate with side panel top flaps which have a handle. Top fold lines extend between the side panels and top flaps. When the pet carrier is assembled, the top flaps abut one another. The top flaps have holes for venting fresh air to the pet inside the pet carrier. The base panel also has two end panels with fold lines separating the base panel from the end panels. The end panels terminate with end panel top flaps. When the pet carrier is collapsed, fasteners secured to the lower corners of the side panels are joined to maintain the pet carrier in a collapsed position. Extending from each side of each end panel is a side support flap. The side support flaps are folded inward toward each other. The side support flaps are secured to the interior surfaces of the side panels.

  • Patent number: 5803018
Abstract: A portable knock down pigeon cage for easy transportation of homing pigeons is made up a top roof, a bottom base, a pair of foldable fences and a pair of lateral side walls. The foldable fences are pivotally engaged with the top roof and the lateral side walls are pivotally engaged with the bottom base and can be releasably engaged with the top roof so that the cage can be easily expanded when the top roof is pulled upwardly and the side walls are erected to engage with the top roof, and the cage can be easily knocked down by simply pushing down the lateral side walls. The cage is provided with a drawable waste collecting board in the bottom base so as to make the cleaning of the cage with ease.

  • Patent number: 5791293
Abstract: An animal shelter (10) includes a top (20) formed as a unitary shell and shaped to resemble a natural object having an irregular surface, such as a tree stump. An entrance (26) is formed in the top (20) and allows an animal to enter and exit animal shelter (10). Because the top (20) is shaped to resemble a natural object, the animal shelter (10) blends into a natural setting. An extended floor (41) may be attached to the base (40), and an extended covering (28) may be attached to the top (20) adjacent the entrance (26). The extended covering (28) covers the extended floor (41). The extended covering (28) resembles an extension of the natural object, thus further enhancing the appearance of the animal shelter (10). A planter (60), removably seated upon the top (20), may be used to cultivate plants.

  • Patent number: 5785003
Abstract: A pet carrier for safely transporting pets in a vehicle includes a basket having a floor and surrounding containment walls and a support assembly for mounting the carrier to a passenger seat of the vehicle so that pets restrained within the basket can easily view the outer surroundings through the vehicle's windows. The support assembly includes a pair of rear arm members movably adjustable to assume a select one of several locked, operable positions with a hooked distal end zone of the arm members resting over the top of the seat back to maintain the basket forward of the seat back, and a removable forward leg support depending below the basket for engagement with the seat base to thereby maintain the basket floor generally horizontal and above the seat base. Collapsible handles permit hand carrying of the carrier and pets therein when the carrier is removed from the vehicle and an adjustable strap in the basket attaches to the pet to restrain the pet within the carrier.

  • Patent number: 5582135
Abstract: Three pieces are stamped out of a rigid flat material. A bottom piece having a bottom, a pair of side walls, a pair of end walls, and panel flaps is folded to form a tray for holding a plastic bag containing a quantity of pet litter. A middle piece forming a pair of side walls, a front wall and a rear wall is assembled into a single continuous loop, and fits snugly around the tray formed from the bottom piece. A top piece having a center panel, two end panels and a lip running around the perimeter of each end panel fits onto the middle piece to form a lid. The middle piece has an intermediate fold in each side wall, allowing the middle piece to collapse along the intermediate folds and the foldable adjoining edges of the side walls. The top piece collapses into a box in which the collapsed middle piece, the plastic bag and the tray formed from the middle piece are stored. A handle integral with and formed out of part of the top piece allows the container to be carried like a suitcase in the collapsed state.
