Abstract: A pet drying towel includes: a first, ring-shaped, absorbent surface including an inner circumference and a concentric outer circumference, wherein the first absorbent surface faces a first direction and the length of the first absorbent surface between the inner circumference and the outer circumference is generally sized to span the length of the pet from the pet's front shoulders through the pet's hindquarters; and a second, ring-shaped, absorbent surface including an inner circumference and a concentric outer circumference, wherein the second absorbent surface faces a second direction opposite to the first direction; wherein the inner circumference of the first absorbent surface and the inner circumference of the second absorbent surface form an inner circumference of the towel; further wherein the inner circumference of the towel forms a central circular opening sized to allow the pet's head to pass through, but not to allow the pet's front shoulders to pass though.

  • Patent number: 7713537
Abstract: Annoying insects are controlled by attaching an insect control device to the body of the animal to be treated. The insect control device is a molded article, preferably in the form of an ear tag, which has been formed from a powder mixture of coumaphos and diazinon, polyvinyl chloride, and a plasticizer. The coumaphos and diazinon are generally used in an amount that would prolong the insecticidal activity without detracting from the suitability of the device.

  • Publication number: 20090277394
Abstract: A collar worn around a pet's neck incorporating an activated carbon element to remove odors, a permeable cover to encase the activated carbon element, and a tie and attachment to secure the collar. When encircled around the neck of a pet, odors originating from the pet are captured by the activated carbon particles. Activated carbon is a material of considerable surface area consisting of millions of pore structures within each carbon particle. As a result, each gram of carbon contains up to, and in some cases, exceeding 500 square meters of surface area. The activated carbon adsorbs the pet odors rather than allowing those odors to be dispersed by the pet. After its usefulness has been exhausted, the collar is discarded and a new one is attached to the pet.

  • Publication number: 20090235871
Abstract: A low cost, effective towel and method for drying and removing dirt, mud, odors and parasites from a pet, such as dog or a cat, that has been exposed to water, dirt and mud from snow, rain, baths and swimming pools. The towel is comprised of a rectangular sheet of an absorbent material for covering the back and the sides of the animal, and apertures for threading the towel over the head and tail of an animal to cover the animal's back and sides. The towel may be either made of a sheet of non-woven disposable cellulose fibers or made of a re-usable sheet of woven cloth-like material or non-woven material capable of multiple uses.

  • Publication number: 20090173288
Abstract: Horse hoof protection against thrush conditions is obtained by depositing onto the horse hoof bottom wall a synthetic organic resin such as a urethane resin through which a medicament that does not block cure of the resin has been, distributed for continuing hoof wall contact. The resin is suitably free flowing into place, conforms to the contours of the hoof bottom wall, and adheres to the wall when cured. The protection by the resin is resilient and softer than the hoof wall and acts to cushion the hoof against shock.

  • Patent number: 6958157
Abstract: The invention relates to a new conjugate, based on triiodomethane, which also contains at least one natural organic and/or modified natural organic and/or inorganic thickener. Cellulose ethers or starch ethers are particularly suitable for use as the thickener. Said conjugate can be used as a disinfectant and can be introduced into ointments or creams. As a hydrogel containing water and a solvent in addition to the conjugate, with a viscosity of between 5,000 and 400,000 mPa*s (20° C.), preferably between 10,000 and 30,000 wPa*s (20° C.), the product is extremely suitable for use as a disinfectant cleaner and hygiene product for cleaning and maintaining animal horn for example of horses, cattle and sheep. In addition, the hydrogel can contain at least one polyalcohol, in particular glycerine. According to one production method, a hydrogel is produced from water and a thickener and the polyalcohol is fast added thereto at a temperature of between 20 and 60° C.

  • Patent number: 5849262
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a bioassay system for retaining hematophagous arthropods, such as, but not limited to, fleas, ticks and flies, in a microenvironment which mimics the natural conditions of unconfined hematophagous arthropods feeding on an animal. The bioassay system of the present invention comprises a container and an attachment means capable of maintaining hematophagous arthropods under conditions such that the fecundity of the retained hematophagous arthropods is substantially equivalent to the fecundity of unconfined hematophagous arthropods. The container is attached to an animal by an attachment means capable of immobilizing the container to the animal in such a manner that hematophagous arthropods can feed undisturbed from the animal through the container. In one embodiment, hematophagous arthropods are retained in a container comprising a retaining means penetrable by the mouth parts of hematophagous arthropods and a gas exchange means.
