Abstract: A steam generator has a pressure casing formed in the shape of a drum. The longitudinal axis of this pressure casing is oriented horizontally or largely horizontally. A hollow tube (1) is formed in such a way that at least two hollow tube sections (1?) are provided, preferably a plurality of hollow tube sections which extend predominantly parallel to each other, and which are arranged in stack-form vertically or vertically offset above each other, and which in each case are interconnected in pairs at an end section, wherein this hollow tube is located in the vertical direction above the feed section (8).

Abstract: The invention relates to a steam generator whose continuously heating evaporator surface is arranged in a hot gas channel for a hot gas passage in a substantially horizontal direction and which comprises a plurality of steam generating pipes passed through by flowing medium, wherein a plurality of output collectors which are mounted downstream of certain steam generating pipes, on the side of flowing medium, are oriented in the longitudinal direction thereof substantially parallel to the hot gas direction. The invention improves the steam generator such that it is possible to attain a high operational flexibility, a particularly reduced start- and load-alternation time, including starting operation or light load phases and to maintain a low-cost production. Each output collector comprises an integrated water separating element by means of which said collector is connected, on the side of flowing medium, to a plurality of downstream arranged overheating pipes of an overheating surface.

Abstract: A heat exchanger for vaporizing a liquid where provided is a boiler in heat-transferrable contact with a plenum that receives a heated medium. The boiler receives a liquid through a liquid inlet, the liquid being in mist or droplet form. The boiler also receives a transport gas through a gas inlet. The transport gas serves to carry the liquid through the boiler where the liquid is vaporized. Also provided is a method of vaporizing a liquid where a transport gas is used to carry a liquid in mist or droplet form through a heated boiler for vaporization.
