  • Patent number: 10948257
Abstract: A crossbow with a built in cranking mechanism preferably includes a crank shaft, a one way bearing, a clutch, a reel shaft, a driven gear and at least one reel. The clutch preferably includes a clutch housing, a clutch pack and a pressure washer installed in a frame or stock of the crossbow. The clutch housing includes a clutch pack housing and a drive gear. The one way bearing and the clutch are retained on the crank shaft. A hand knob is threaded on to the crank shaft to exert pressure on the clutch pack. The driven gear is pressed on to the reel shaft. The at least one reel is retained on at least one end of the reel shaft. The hand knob is tightened against the clutch pack to frictionally engage the crank shaft with the drive gear. The drive gear rotates the at least one reel.

  • Patent number: 10900738
Abstract: A worm gear crank cocking device (“CCD”) for a crossbow to draw a bowstring from a released position to a cocked position. A user rotates a receptacle of the worm gear CCD to draw hooks rearward along the crossbow track to engage the bowstring and to draw the hooks with the bow string to a catch to place the crossbow in the cocked position. The worm gear CCD provides an automatic stop. If a user stops rotating the receptacle of the worm gear CCD, the hooks remain stationary on the track. A release mechanism is provided that disengages spools winding the cords attached to the hooks so that the hooks may return to their starting position forward of the released bowstring.

  • Patent number: 10866055
Abstract: A crossbow trigger assembly with a nock sensor enabling the catch to release the crossbow string only when a nock of an arrow is properly engaging the crossbow string. The trigger assembly also contains a bypass feature for deactivating the nock sensor to cause release of the crossbow string from the catch when a user activates a release switch. The bypass feature can only be activated when retractable hooks are positioned to receive the crossbow string near the catch, thereby preventing a dry fire of the crossbow string.

  • Patent number: 10859340
Abstract: A trigger mechanism for use in a crossbow having a bowstring, the trigger mechanism comprising a housing having a slot formed therein, a trigger lever pivotally mounted in the housing and having a trigger that extends partially outside the housing, a catch pivotally mounted in the housing, and a disarm mechanism received in the housing that is moveable between a neutral first position and a disarm second position. The catch has a first end configured to retain the bowstring in a cocked position and a second end configured to operatively engage the trigger lever. When the disarm mechanism is in the disarm second position and the user draws the bowstring further into the housing slot, the trigger mechanism is configured to allow the catch to move from the catch first position into the catch second position without requiring the user to engage the trigger (e.g., squeezing or pulling the trigger).

  • Patent number: 10830553
Abstract: A crossbow includes a rail assembly and a limb assembly that can be assembled together and disassembled from one another. A release member is rigidly attached to one assembly and a retention member is attached to the other assembly. When the crossbow is assembled the release member is in a retained position; when the crossbow is disassembled the release member is removed from its retained position. In a release position the retention member permits movement of the release member into or out of the retained position; in a retention position the retention member prevents movement of the release member out of the retained position. The release and/or retention members can be adjusted to alter the force urging together the rail and limb assemblies. The retention member can be moved between the release and retention positions without using any tool.
