Abstract: Air gun apparatus for firing missiles 11 including a gun and a replaceable cartridge assembly. The cartridge assembly includes a casing having a detachable hollow nose, a pressure cylinder slidably located in the casing, and a valve mechanism normally biased by a valve spring in the cylinder to close a gas discharge path from the interior of the cylinder to the hollow nose via a removable hollow valve abutment member. The valve mechanism is openable by forcible movement of the cylinder towards the hollow nose. The gun includes a seating at a breech end of a barrel, a breech, and a breech block assembly. A firing spring acts on an inertia member which is releasable by a trigger mechanism.
Abstract: An ejection device in the form of a chaff cartridge for dipoles for aircraft defense, through disorientation of the hostile aircraft cannon radar. The ejection device allows for the dipoles to be completely ejected and wherein, after the ejection, the individual dipoles are uniformly dispersed to provide for the formation of a homogeneous cloud. In order to obtain the foregoing pistons of the device are provided with sealing rings, and include guide surfaces which extend in the axial direction of the shell and which conform to the shell. Advantageous hereby is the uncomplicated and inexpensive construction of the pistons from sprayed plastic material parts, and wherein the sealing rings additionally serve as tolerance compensators between the otherwise expanding shell with regard to the pistons.
Abstract: A projectile launching toy simulating a space gun, which has a generally flat disc-like body is provided with a forwardly biased shaft moved against spring tension by a trigger for releasing a projectile. The projectile comprises an inflated toy balloon having its opening frictionally engaging one end of a tube with the other end of the tube coaxially surrounding the head end of the shaft. Air released from the balloon through the tube when launched simulates a rocket. When the balloon is released a shaft is retracted from the mouth of the balloon by means of a trigger.
Abstract: A fishing rod, having a longitudinal bore for the reception of an elongated projectile, replaces the conventional barrel and is secured to the magazine of a compressed gas fired pistol. The bore includes a lateral port communicating with a charge of gas under pressure. The elongated projectile is closed at its forward end and includes an axial socket open at its other end. A tubular bolt is slidably received in the bore of the fishing rod and the axial socket of the projectile. The bolt is closed at its rearward end but includes a lateral port communicating with the lateral port in the bore and with the axial socket of the projectile, whereby the bolt transfers the charge of gas to the projectile for firing thereof. A monofilament line, wound on a spin-cast reel supported by the fishing rod, has its free end attached to the projectile for retrieving the projectile after being fired at a target.
