Lever-operated Saw Patents (Class 125/16.03)
  • Patent number: 8167681
Abstract: The present invention provides a slicing method comprising winding a wire around a plurality of grooved rollers and pressing the wire against an ingot to be sliced into wafers while supplying a slurry for slicing to the grooved rollers and causing the wire to travel, wherein a supply temperature of the slurry for slicing is controlled, and slicing is performed in such a manner that the supply temperature of the slurry for slicing and a temperature of the ingot become at least 30° C. or above at end of slicing the ingot. As a result, there is provided the slicing method that can alleviate precipitous cooling of an ingot in the time close to end of slicing the ingot and thereby suppress production of a nano-topography when slicing the ingot by using a wire saw.

Abstract: The portable concrete saw of the present invention includes a frame with first and second side members and cross members that connect the first and second side members together. It also includes a cantilever member pivotally mounted to the frame and an actuator for moving the cantilever member to a selected position and holding it at that position. The cantilever member supports an internal combustion engine, electric motor or other power source and a cutting blade driven by the power source. The method of forming this saw includes forming openings in the side members, inserting end portions of the cross members into the openings to form the frame, and pivotally mounting a cantilever member to the frame.

  • Publication number: 20030131839
Abstract: The invention relates to a drive unit (3) for a chip-removing machine tool, especially a sawing, cutting-off or grinding machine for machining concrete, stone, wood or metal. The drive unit (3) can be connected to a tool (2) and comprises a movement unit (8) with an output side swivel arm (9) and a base unit (12). The tool drive (4), which is composed of an electric motor and a gear unit, is arranged in the housing (10) of the swivel arm (9) by means of an integrated bearing. At least one actuating drive (19, 20) which is used to rotate the swivel arm (9) and to move the base unit (12) in a travelling manner can be arranged in the base unit (12). An integrated liquid cooling device (32) can be provided for the drives (4, 19, 21).

  • Patent number: 6170478
Abstract: A concrete cutting saw and the process of using the concrete cutting saw for making a 45° chamfer cut at an edge of a 90° cut through a concrete wall. The process includes the steps of cutting a 90° cut through a concrete wall with a 90° saw mounted on a trolley riding along a track affixed to the concrete adjacent the cut. The 90° blade is lifted so that it is above the wall surface and a chamfer saw assembly is affixed to the frame. Next, the chamfer saw motor is started and the saw is lowered into a cutting position and the trolley is once again moved along the track, thereby forming a 45° chamfer along the edge of the cut. The apparatus utilizes a chamfer saw frame affixed to the trolley frame after the 90° saw blade has been lifted. The chamfer saw frame is mounted so that it is directly in the position which the 90° saw occupies when the 90° saw blade 16 is in a cutting position.
