Angular Cutting Saws Patents (Class 125/16.04)
  • Patent number: 11370139
Abstract: The invention relates to a device, a method and an assembly of parts produced by cutting in a block B of metal or composite material, following a determined trajectory. The device comprises a guide (3) forming said trajectory and a support (chain 9) mounted in the guide in a sliding manner, comprising a lateral blank (23) provided with at least one cutting plate (24) comprising a protruding cutting edge (25) arranged so as to carry out the cutting in a normal direction (26) in relation to the blank.

  • Patent number: 7198042
Abstract: A system for supporting and positioning a portable stone-cutting track saw to make a mitered cut in a piece stone-type material is described. The system includes lightweight support fixtures that clamp to the stone and that are configured to support rails of the portable track saw system at a desired angle, for example, approximately 45°, or at a variety of angles, with respect to the stone. In one preferred embodiment, two end support fixtures clamp on to ends of the stone and are configured to support track saw rails at an angle of 46° with respect to a horizontal surface of the stone. The system may also comprise one or more types of inline support fixtures for supporting a central portion of the rails when the rails are very long or use of end support fixtures is inconvenient, and a depth-stop mechanism for enhancing repeatability of the mitered cuts.

  • Patent number: 6945858
Abstract: A method is disclosed for constructing non-seamed stone corners for use on outside edges formed by joining thin stone walls at right angles. Thin stone is used to lay the field of the walls. Then a building stone is oriented and fed down a chute, having perpendicular sides, through two stone cutting saws at right angles to one another, where the distance between the saw blades and the sides of the chute correspond to the thickness of the respective thin stone walls, and where the cutting edges of the saw blades have a clearance between them of about one-eighth of an inch. A residual piece is removed from the cut building stone, leaving a corner stone. These corner stones are laid on the corner formed by the right angle joint between the walls, giving the illusion of a thick building stone wall with nearly the low cost and easy laying of thin stone. Where the residual piece is large enough, it is used to cut a second corner stone in the same manner.

  • Patent number: 6827073
Abstract: A block splitting tool having a splitting blade that is formed by edges of a plurality of smaller splitter segments. The splitter segments are arranged in a side-by-side relation such that the edges form a substantially continuous blade that is generally corrugated or jagged. The splitter segments may be operatively connected to a suitable support that, in turn, is attached to a block splitting machine. When the splitting blade of the tool engages and splits a block, the edges of the splitter segments form a plurality of fracture zones that are angled with respect to each other, which results in roughened facings on the newly cleaved smaller blocks. In a preferred embodiment, the splitter segments are removably attached to a support plate, so that they may be repositioned, replaced, and/or repaired.

  • Patent number: 6772749
Abstract: A band saw with a complex coordination of a tilting motion and a translational motion between the workpiece and the band saw blade, so that a curved cut is made in the workpiece. The geometric parameters of the cut can be continuously adjusted. This makes it possible to optimize a contact length of the saw blade in the workpiece, which is an important factor in the cutting process. It is thus possible to saw workpieces made of stone and similar materials that are typically difficult to cut. The cut and the contact length of the saw blade can be tailored individually to each workpiece to be sawed. Thus, workpieces of different geometrical dimensions and different material properties, in particular with different material hardnesses, can be processed using the band saw according to the invention without having to undertake significant changes.
