  • Patent number: 10488050
Abstract: A wood stove including a stove body which defines a stove exterior, a stove interior, and a combustion chamber disposed within the interior. A temporary cast iron insert is placed within the combustion chamber, the insert includes a horizontal base and vertical wall. The vertical wall substantially bisects the horizontal base. Fuel may be placed only on one side of the vertical wall during milder weather that does not require the full heating capacity of the stove. The cast iron insert improves the thermal efficiency of the stove whenever lesser amounts of logs are burned.

Abstract: Wood kindling arrangement for quickly kindling of solid fuel in wood burning stove, leading to a reduction of the discharge of polluted chimney gas particle. The wood kindling unit is preferably meant for wood burning stove with closed combustion chamber. When the invention is used you gain a standardized and quickly kindling of solid fuel, resulting in a reduction of the discharge of polluting chimney gas particle. The wood kindling unit consists of en horizontal placed bottom plate (1), connected to three vertical plates (2), which have ventilation openings (3). The hindmost vertical plate has at the top a guiding plate (4) and a space holder (5). The two foremost vertical plates are connected with a grate arrangement (6), which serves as cradle for the fuel. The cavity (7) under the grate arrangement is applied for the placement of the fire medium under the fuel.

  • Patent number: 5195501
Abstract: A trash barrel arranged for the burning of refuse therewithin is provided to provide a semi-cylindrical first shell mounting a semi-cylindrical second shell functioning as a door relative to the first shell. A powdered brick aggregate is contained within spaced walls of the first shell, including upper and lower semi-cylindrical caps mounted to upper and lower distal ends of the first shell to enclose the powdered brick aggregate therewithin. The shell structure includes an upper and lower semi-circular "U" shaped channel cap to contain the aggregate within the first shell, with a lower cap including a floor plate integral therewith to accommodate the second shell thereover. The second shell further includes a sliding door to permit drafting through the interior cavity of the first and second shells when in a cylindrical configuration, with a wire-mesh basket mounted to the second shell to be removed relative to the first shell upon opening of the door or second shell structure.

  • Patent number: 4683866
Abstract: A charcoal cooker has a cooker bowl and a lid dimensioned to cover the bowl during cooking. Food is supported within the cooker on a support structure such as a rotisserie rod or a grid. A primary grate is disposed within the bowl below the food support structure and is configured to support a charcoal fire and an upper grate is disposed at an elevation within the bowl above the primary grate but below the food support structure. The upper grate is configured to support a charcoal fire and is spaced from the primary grate at a sufficiently small distance so that a charcoal fire on the primary grate will ignite charcoal disposed on the upper grate. In this manner a long lasting charcoal fire may be achieved by starting a fire on the primary grate and placing fresh charcoal on the upper grate for subsequent ignition and burning.
