Fluid Fuel Patents (Class 126/271.2R)
  • Publication number: 20140216437
Abstract: A mobile surface heater is disclosed having a heat generation loop and a heat dissipation loop. The heat generation loop can include a heat generating device, a storage tank, and a first pump for circulating a fluid. The heat dissipation loop can be placed in fluid communication with the heat generation loop and includes a ground heating system having at least one heat transfer conduit extending between a supply manifold and a return manifold. A control valve can also be provided to deliver a mixed fluid flow stream to the ground heating system by selectively mixing fluid from the heat generation loop with fluid returning from the ground heating system return manifold. In one embodiment, an electronic controller is provided that operates the mixing valve to maintain a temperature setpoint of the mixed fluid flow stream and to maintain a minimum entering fluid temperature setpoint of the atmospheric water heater.

  • Publication number: 20120199111
Abstract: This system is based on a provisional patent by the inventor Darrell E. Heard, Application No. 61/462,729, a hot water snow removal system wherein the system employs a salt specifically suitable for the disintegration of snow. In this system there are a series of components in the form of Appliances inline necessary to achieve the task of hot water snow removal. The first tank on page one, is a hot water heater, followed by a reduced pressure zone backflow preventer, connected to a salt processing apparatus, a heat pump, hot water storage tank, thermal fluid collector timing mechanisms, heat pump and hot fluid circulation manifold and sprinkler system. Its purpose is to prevent line freeze up at the sprinkler heads and in the sprinkler systems lines.

  • Patent number: 6408843
Abstract: The invention is a portable ground thawing device using a shallow rectangularly shaped box-like apparatus (or thaw body) that is open-ended on the side that would normally form the floor of the thaw body. This open-ended box is constructed with a high degree of insulating value and is designed to trap heat against the surface of frozen ground while also including a reflective inner surface. The heating requirements are supplied by the use of an externally mounted radiant propane heater that is commonly available in the marketplace today. This attachment is built into one of the short vertical walls on the end of the thaw body by placing the burner element of the radiant heater in the most outward opening of a vented heat transfer tube. The vented heat transfer tube is a cylindrical opening that passes from the outside of the thaw body so as to leave an air gap to allow for the free flow of air from inside the thaw body to the outside by the burner.

  • Patent number: 6367469
Abstract: A jet-blaster device especially for use by the application of preformed road markings and pavement maintenance works such as crack filling and other industrial applications such as epoxy injections for concrete slabs, said jet-blaster device comprising a wheel supported frame system provided with a supply gas bottle, a combustion engine being drivingly connected with a fan, an outlet opening of which being connected by means of a flexible hose to a jet-blaster gun comprising a gas heated burner system having an outlet nozzle. Hereby is obtained an improved mobile jet-blaster device which especially is well qualified for the application of preformed road markings and pavement maintenance works such as crack filling and other industrial applications such as epoxy injections for concrete slabs.
