  • Patent number: 11512872
Abstract: Disclosed herein are connectors for a tankless water heater. The connectors can comprise a flange, an aperture extending through the flange having a first diameter, one or more slots extending through the flange, a connector portion substantially surrounding the aperture and extending outward from the flange away from the tankless water heater. The aperture can correspond to an air inlet extending into the tankless water heater, and the air inlet can have a second diameter that is larger than the aperture. To keep the flange in place, the one or more slots can correspond to one or more fastening holes in the tankless water heater. The one or more slots can be substantially parallel and on opposite sides of the aperture. The connector can be in a secured state when the one or more slots are fastened to the one or more fastening holes.

Abstract: A cooking appliance having a broiler may include a housing defining an upper compartment above the broiler and a rear compartment behind the broiler. A gas mixing pipe extends through the upper compartment to the rear compartment via an opening in an interior wall of the housing. A cover is removably coupled to an outer surface of the interior wall, such that opposing U-shaped slots of the two cover portions collectively form an aperture that conforms to an outer periphery of the gas mixing pipe. Accordingly, the cover blocks one or more gaps in the interior wall, such that the cover is configured to prevent gases from passing into the rear compartment through the gaps.

Abstract: Adapter for a flue gas outlet with a first end (2), a second end (4), and a central passageway (6) extending there between. The second end (4) has at least two interconnected cylinder shaped walls (8, 10, 12) having different internal diameters (d1, d2, d3), each cylinder shaped wall (8,10,12) being arranged for sealed engagement with a corresponding pipe to be inserted into the adapter (1). An internal diameter of the at least two cylinder shaped walls (8,10,12) decreases with increased insertion depth (h) as measured from the second end (4) toward the first end (2). The at least two cylinder shaped walls (8,10,12) are eccentrically disposed and mutually tangent in a longitudinal direction of the adapter (1). The adapter (1) further has a pipe securing member (14) circumferentially disposed at the second end (4).

  • Patent number: 9874352
Abstract: A hood for directing smoke from a wood burning fireplace through a filter or catalytic converter enables a substantial reduction in pollutants released to the environment. In an exemplary embodiment, a hood includes a housing, in which an exhaust cleaner support unit supports an exhaust cleaner for reducing pollutants as smoke is directed from an intake opening of the housing to an exhaust opening of the housing. A rear surface of the housing and side surfaces of the housing abut three walls of the fireplace, reducing air paths behind or beside the hood to capture a substantial amount of the smoke from the fire. The front of the hood is tapered to direct the smoke toward the exhaust cleaner. Due to a mild suction effect from heating of the exhaust cleaner, the front surface of the hood need not extend all the way to the front of the fireplace, and air flow in front of the hood into the flue is not impeded.

  • Patent number: 5752500
Abstract: A draft hood is provided for mating alignment with a fireplace assembly. The mating alignment is facilitated by the location of alignment hardware fixed to the rear surface of the fireplace and to the inside of the draft hood. In use the hardware permits alignment of the draft hood in a fireplace enclosure without the need to see the fitting, without the need for a long run-in slide, and without the need vertically to pivot the draft hood on installation or to pull the flue termination forward of the firebox flue before attachment. For this purpose an updraft detection warning spill tube may also function as one of the alignment fittings since it is, due to its function, located near or at the junction of the draft hood and fireplace.
