Abstract: Room darkening window curtain rod assemblies that include a curtain rod and two bracket assemblies, each including a removable magnetic finial are disclosed. Each bracket assembly includes a wraparound leg that extends perpendicularly from an axis of the curtain rod toward a wall or window frame upon which the assembly is installed. The removable finials allow a curtain to be drawn onto the wraparound leg of each bracket assembly from the curtain rod to provide curtain wraparound regions. The curtain wraparound regions reduce or prevent light from entering into a room, and allow the bracket assemblies to be hidden. Once the curtain is extended into the wraparound regions, the magnetic finials are magnetically attached to the bracket assemblies with portions of the curtain located therebetween.

Abstract: A disposable foil grill is disclosed which consists of a corrugated and perforated sheet of heavy duty aluminum foil. The corrugations allow smoke to access virtually the entire bottom surface of the food being cooked so that the desired barbecue flavor is obtained. Fat from meat being cooked drips into troughs formed by the corrugation and exits through holes in the troughs onto the coals for generation of the smoke and flame which give food a desireable barbecue flavor. Another advantage of the disclosed disposable grill cover is that the distances between adjacent troughs may be changed by a slight pull on the ends of the foils to perfectly align the troughs with the spacings between the wire grating of the grill. In this way, holes formed in the bottom of the troughs for fat drippings do not allow the drippings to come in contact with the wire grating.

  • Patent number: 4649897
Abstract: A vaporizer-burner using liquid fuel such as oil, in which the oil conducted to the combustion chamber is vaporized before being ignited and in which the air required for combustion has been conducted to the combustion chamber along a separate duct. The problem in this type of vaporizer-burners of prior art is the continuous vacuum prevailing in the combustion chamber during operation, which renders the flame unstable and sensitive to changes in ambient conditions, such as wind squalls. With the vaporizer-burner of the invention, the problem has been solved in that the air supply duct has been divided into two parts, one directing air to the oil vaporizing process and the other to the combustion process, and that the supply proportion of said so-called primary and secondary airs can be adjusted with the aid of a turnable flap placed in the duct.

  • Patent number: 4436356
Abstract: A compact base unit for use in conjunction with a microwave oven or the like includes a lower surface for resting upon a counter top, an upper surface for supporting the oven, and a storage area disposed between the upper and lower surfaces. A work surface is slidingly secured to the base unit by a roller track assembly for allowing the work surface to be either retracted within the storage area of the base unit or slidingly extended in front of the base unit. The base unit includes a camming member connected to a push rod for partially advancing the work surface from the storage area when the push rod is actuated. The work surface includes a cookware support molded of silicone rubber to form a series of concentric, stepped depressions for securely supporting various sized cookware utilized in conjunction with the oven.

  • Patent number: 4414959
Abstract: This invention is directed to a device for holding an object such as a microwave oven above the burner area of a kitchen stove or range of the type commonly used in homes. The disclosed invention includes a platform for holding the object which is rigidly secured to a support. The support is adapted to engage the drip rails on both sides of the burner area of the range to hold the platform at a predetermined height above the burner area. A stiffening member is secured to the platform and to the support to provide rigidity to the shelf which stiffening member has a heat reflective surface extending substantially across the burner area of the range to reflect heat back toward the burner area and away from the shelf.

  • Patent number: 4137442
Abstract: A browning unit is slidably provided in a high-frequency oven cavity. The browning unit is adjustable in location in the oven cavity with the use of a lever provided on an outside wall of the oven for controlling a browning or toasting condition of the exterior of foodstuffs. To prevent leakage of high-frequency energy, a choke mechanism is required at a point through which a lead wire and a supporter for the browning unit are provided.

  • Patent number: 4082391
Abstract: A pivotally mounted, stowable galley which may include a sink, a stove, storage and work areas, the galley having a "down" storage position flush with a vertical surface to which it is attached and an "up" operational position substantially perpendicular to the vertical surface. The galley includes an elongated but relatively thin (in height) rectangular box which houses a sink, a stove (if desired), and storage areas and a double hinged counter top which serves as the galley box closure or lid. The galley is mountable on a boat gunnel overhang and vertical or horizontal wall surfaces and is intended for use in confined areas where space is at a premium, such as in boats, recreational vehicles and the like. When not in use, the galley pivots downwardly increasing available space and occupying very little space when stowed. When in use, complete galley facilities are provided including a sink, a stove, storage areas and adequate counter space.
