Folding Or Nesting Kit Patents (Class 126/38)
  • Patent number: 4108141
Abstract: An improved portable grill construction employing a hood pivotally mounted to an underlying grill tub which supports a grilling grate and a heating element in spaced relation is described. The hood and the tub are manufactured from identical lightweight shells each having a deep portion and an adjacent shallow portion, which are mounted in confronting symmetrical relation to define a closed contour when the hood is closed. The top surface of the hood is apertured, and a separate insert member adapted for holding a container for food or liquid to be heated when the hood is closed, is removably mounted in the aperture and is so dimensioned as to yield an air-permeable gap around its entire periphery for efficient heating of the container. The hood is associated with the tub through a U-shaped member which folds flat when the hood is closed to define a carrying handle.

  • Patent number: 4105013
Abstract: A portable stove of the type fuelled from a replaceable pressurized combustible gas cartridge and having means for connecting a burner head to the replaceable cartridge, said stove being equipped with a dished wind shield having a rim which surrounds the burner head, and cooking vessel support arms pairs of which are formed by yokes pivoted along their middle sections on the floor of the dished wind shield such that the arms are movable between cooking vessel supporting positions in which the said arms extend beyond the rim of the said wind shield and stowing positions in which the said arms are moved back within the periphery of the rim. A pair of covers, which telescopically fit one into the other have the dual function of serving separately as saucepans and in co-operation as an expandible housing for the stove.

  • Patent number: 4092974
Abstract: Three wire leg members are attached to a relatively small hub member and are movable between a folded position in which all three leg members are relatively together and in use position in which the three leg members are substantially equally spaced apart and extend radially outwardly from the hub member. A gas burner unit is received within an upwardly directed recess formed in the hub member and includes an upwardly directed burner head. The wire leg members have lower portions restable on a support surface and upper portions providing a pan support at a level above the burner head. A flexible hose extends from the burner unit to a control valve and adaptor assembly attachable to the top of a can of butane gas. The control valve includes a knob and means controlled by rotation of the knob for moving a depressable member which is a part of an outlet valve built into the can, for both turning the gas flow on and off and regulating its flow rate.

  • Patent number: 4043744
Abstract: A camping stove having a housing for receiving an expendable gas container. The gas container is punctuated by a puncturing means at the upper inner end of the housing to connect the container with valve supporting the puncturing means. The valve means and the puncturing means are rotationally and stationarily mounted in the housing. The container is enclosed in the housing by a lid which supports a screw employed to press the container against the puncturing means without rotating the gas container.

  • Patent number: 3933146
Abstract: The portable single burner campstove of this invention is characterized by wind resistance and high efficiency. The cooking unit, which can be mounted on top of a support stand, includes a reflector bowl, a burner within the reflector bowl, and grate means for supporting a cooking utensil over the burner. In addition, there is provided a burner bowl within the reflector bowl and surrounding the burner. The utensil supporting grate is formed from a plurality of vertically-oriented strips of sheet metal, the lower portions of which extend downwardly into the burner bowl and the reflector bowl for cooperating therewith to increase the heat transferred to the cooking utensil and to reduce the adverse effect of crosswinds on such transfer. Preferably, where the burner is gas-fired, it is mounted on an adjustable support stand, so that different size gas bottles may be used with the stove, legs of adjustable inclination forming one side of the support and a bottle of fuel gas the other side.
