Drawer-elevating Patents (Class 126/41E)
  • Patent number: 5429043
Abstract: A power operated system for raising and lowering an oven rack but without opening the oven door is disclosed. The system comprises a plurality of conventional rectangular wire oven shelves in a spaced apart relationship. Each shelf is supported on a protuberance that has a threaded portion that rides up and down a threaded support bar. The support bar is turned by a continuous loop chain gear that derives it's direction from an electric motor. The electric motor is controlled by a remote located switch on the face of the oven. The support bars form a right-angle frame within the oven cavity and are oriented above a lowermost section of the oven which houses the electric motor and the journal bearings they are in.

  • Patent number: 5247877
Abstract: A novel barbecue grill with mechanical linkages which automatically perform the following functions when the user pulls a single handle: (1) the lid opens; (2) the grill surface moves out of the grill; (3) a drip pan may optionally travel under the grill surface to catch drippings; and (4) the lid closes after the grill surface is out of the grill. The user then has access to the grill surface while the lid to the grill remains closed. Pushing on the handle reverses the sequence of events. An optional feature permits the user to lift the lid in the conventional manual manner, independently of the position of the grill surface. An optional safety feature inhibits the motion of the grill surface when the lid has been lifted manually, thus preventing the lid from accidentally slamming closed after it has been opened in the conventional manual manner.

  • Patent number: 4760836
Abstract: A spark ignition safety system for a gas barbeque. The system comprises an external electrode secured to the bottom of the grill and positioned in proximity to a portion of the lid so that when the spark generator is actuated, a spark will be generated only externally when the lid is closed and only internally, through the normal internal spark generating electrode near the gas burner element, when the lid is open. The spark ingition safety system in accordance with the present invention minimizes the chance of the gas barbeque blowing up or catching on fire when an operator attempts to light the barbeque by manipulation of the spark generator without lifting the lid.

  • Patent number: 4462306
Abstract: An outdoor cooking grill having a bottom grate supported in an iron framework with a food grill of parallel heat conductive bars capable of being raised and lowered relative to the grate. The apparatus includes a curved heat reflective back plate providing insulative characteristics to protect the back closure. Rotisserie supports are provided on a horizontal lift support frame which can serve selectively as a grill support and a rotisserie support. Specific lock devices are provided for rotisserie rods to position the rods in any of a plurality of positions. A composite lift bracket serves also as a rotisserie support.
