Abstract: A fireplace for food cooking having a planar member adapted to receive coals dispersed thereon and having two sides extending perpendicular therefrom on opposite sides thereof and a back extending perpendicular therefrom and between the two sides. A fireplace hood is supported on the two sides and the back. The fireplace hood has a duct extending upwardly therefrom. The duct is adapted to allow smoke to discharge from the hood. A baffle plate wall has its ends affixed to the two sides and a back side spaced from the back so as to define a hollow space therewith. The baffle plate wall is positioned between the planar member and the fireplace hood so as to define a combustion chamber and a cooking chamber. The hollow space has an upper opening and a lower opening. The lower opening defining an access mouth adapted to draw the coals in the combustion chamber.

Abstract: An artificial campfire device is disclosed. The device is fueled by a pressurized fuel source and is adapted for permanent mounting to a fixed ground member. The device includes a base receptacle having a peripheral edge defining an open top and an interior bottom surface. The base receptacle is mountable to the fixed ground member. A burner member is mounted to and positioned above the interior bottom surface and is adapted to provide a flame of variable height. A fuel control mechanism is adapted for coupling a pressurized fuel source exterior to the receptacle base with the burner member to control the flow of fuel to the burner member and the size of flame emitted thereby. Finally, a plurality of artificial refractory log members are secured to each other in crisscross fashion to form a log cluster, and the log cluster is permanently secured to the base receptacle bottom surface.

Abstract: A collapsible, portable outdoor fireplace with a fire screen assembly is easily broken down into its constituent components, which are stored in a cavity between the top and bottom cover members of the fireplace. The fireplace includes hemispherical top and bottom fire bowl members and a fire screen assembly that is supported between the two fire bowl members. The fire screen assembly matches the configuration of the bowl members and includes a series of individual screen panels that are easily assembled together and disassembled without the need for tools. One of the screen panels includes an access door that defines an entrance to the fireplace.

Abstract: An open fireplace which includes a fuel supporting device (16) that enables the fire (10) to be seen from all directions. An essentially vertical smoke duct (7) is disposed so that its bottom orifice (18) will be located above the fuel. The fireplace includes means (13) for delivering cold supply air in the form of an air curtain which surrounds the smoke from the fire (10) and causes the smoke to pass up through the smoke duct (7).

Abstract: A portable artificial campfire device is disclosed. The device includes a receptacle having upper and lower portions, an open top defined by a peripheral edge of the upper portion, and an interior bottom surface. A burner is positioned above the interior bottom surface and is adapted to provide a flame of variable height. A pressurized fuel source is positioned exterior to the receptacle, and a control member couples the fuel source with the burner for controlling the flow of fuel to the burner and the size of flame emitted by the burner. A plurality of artificial refractory log members are secured to each other in crisscross fashion to form a log cluster. A structure is provided for supporting the log cluster within the receptacle. Finally, a mechanism is provided for selectively adjusting the vertical position of the log cluster in the receptacle to vary the vertical position of the log cluster relative to the plane the open top.

Abstract: A firepit apparatus for which controlled flames from lava rocks may be visibly displayed includes a base portion having an elevated platform on which lava rocks are supported. Surrounding the platform is a wall of sufficient height to laterally contain layered lava rocks. This surrounding wall extends below the platform to elevate the platform. Legs attached to the interior of the wall are used to provide further support for the platform. On this platform, a gas line with a multiplicity of spaced outlet ports is disposed. This gas line is attached to an apertured junction which transverses the platform, which is in turn attached through a regulated line to a regulator valve, and ultimately through a supply line to a supply source of gas, such as a pressurized natural gas or liquid petroleum canister or tank. Attached to the base portion is a lid support structure that is substantially open to the sides to allow clear view of lava rocks placed on the platform of the base portion even when a lid is used.

Abstract: The fireplace grill features dual purpose legs which are inverted to snap over a lid holding the entire unit together for compact storage and transport. Under normal operating condition, the legs are inverted and are deployed downwardly and outwardly to raise the fireplace above the ground.

Abstract: The devices and methods described relate to the prevention of the spreading of campfires which might create forest fires through the unintentional emission of embers and sparks. The invention encloses the campfire in a three dimensional space. It is self-supporting, is easily portable and transportable by selection of an appropriate shape and weight, and is compactable through folding or rolling by the use of rings or hinges. The principal geometric shape is pyramidal with the use of multiple panels. Further, these panels have two end panels which can be folded out to allow temporary access to the campfire.

Abstract: An rotating air fireplace comprising a pedestal section, a fire enclosure, a truncated conical hood, and an adjustable baffle assembly. Adjusting the position of the baffle alters the inlet and outlet annular vortex and the size and intensity of the fire. Air is drawn into the fire chamber through an air inlet means located along the top end of the cylindrical fire enclosure. An air directing means is aligned with the air inlet means to impart a downward tangential flow through the fire enclosure that keeps the glass fire enclosure cool and clean. A free standing wood holding means rests on the pedestal section and is centered within the fire enclosure.

Abstract: A low profile gas burner fireplace is provided for mounting under a low table top or counter. The fireplace system comprises a decorative insulated table top mounted on the top wall of a low profile fireplace. The fireplace is provided with a hot exhaust gas system that connects below the burner system and passes through the bottom wall of the fireplace structure to conduct hot gasses through the bottom wall and outside of the room area in which the fireplace is located by means of an induced draft fan so that no pipes or exhaust system are visible in the room in which the fireplace is located.

Abstract: A free-standing fireplace for outdoor use is disclosed. The fireplace contains a base in which a fire is made. Adjustably mounted onto the base unit are a number of side panels. The side panels are adjustably mounted onto the base to allow air to flow into the fireplace between the bottom of the side panels and the top of the base unit. At least one of the side panels is transparent to provide a pleasing view of the fire contained in the fireplace. Above the side panels is a hood, and mounted to the hood is a smoke stack.

Abstract: A fireplace assembly is disclosed which provides a simplistic assembly technique that enables construction of numerous different fireplace models with a minimum of unique parts. These can be constructed into a desired form without the use of a frame. The internal components of the fireplace are secured to each other in such a manner that a frame is unnecessary. These components are also constructed such that many of them are interchangeable to enable fabrication of various types of fireplaces, such as see-through, cove, island and bay type fireplaces. A pair of combustion dome assemblies, each of which includes an upwardly extending nozzle, creates a significant upward suction within the combustion chamber. This provides superior air flow and combustion together with greater safety.

Window structure enables viewing of the interior of the chamber from outside the housing. Pellet fuel is burned in a zone remote from the display chamber.
