Centrifugal Patents (Class 127/19)
  • Patent number: 3973984
Abstract: Continuously operable sugar centrifuge comprises a number of centrifuging channels forming part of a conical frustum and being symmetrically distributed relative to a rotational axis. Preferably, two channels are arranged to receive the massecuite through massecuite supply conduits connected to the upper ends of the centrifuging channels. The lower ends of the centrifuging channels are connected through radially extending sugar discharge conduits leading to a sugar outlet arranged coaxially with the drive shaft of the centrifuge. The sugar conduits have a radial dimension so that their outer ends extend outside of the centrifuging channels. The outer ends of the sugar conduits are provided with funnels facing with their open face in the direction of rotation of the centrifuge whereby an air stream transports the sugar radially inwardly from the centrifuging channels to the sugar outlet.

  • Patent number: 3970470
Abstract: A centrifuge, specifically a sugar centrifuge for the continuous centrifuging of highly viscous fillmasses, has a separating sieve conically widening upwardly to the outlet and an accelerating pot having no holes, which reduces downwardly and is connected to the smallest diameter of the sieve. The fillmass is supplied to one pot from a so-called harrow slide through a delivery pipe. The fillmass within the accelerating pot is diverted once or several times by suitable means in such manner that it is delivered screen-like to the wall of the pot and is guided from one diverting point to another and within its screen-like formation is penetrated by regulatable amounts of water and/or steam. The total amount of water and/or steam supplied to the fillmass as well as their temperature suffice to decrease the viscosity of the fillmass to the desired amount.

  • Patent number: 3970244
Abstract: Clearing centrifuge having an inlet tube for filling the centrifuge drum; said inlet tube extending into said drum and comprising at least two outlet apertures for the material to be centrifuged; the improvement that said inlet tube comprises two or more tube parts which are arranged at least partly in one another and are adapted to be adjusted relatively to one another, and that two of said tube parts each comprise, or jointly form, one of said outlet apertures.

  • Patent number: 3955754
Abstract: A centrifuge has a frusto-conical rotary drum with a continuous surface. A first screen is spaced from the radially inner surface of the drum, and a second screen, coarser than the first screen, is spaced from the radially inner surface of the first screen. A feed container is provided at the narrower lower end of the drum, and means are provided for feeding material to be separated to the feed container, so that the material to be separated is fed from the feed container to the radially inner surface of the inner screen. Means are also provided to separately collect liquids at the upper end of the drum and solids at the upper ends of the screens.
