  • Patent number: 10548765
Abstract: Introduced here are universal modular attachments that can be attached to medication containers. Because a single modular attachment is typically attachable to medication containers of different sizes, the modular attachment can be referred to as a “universal modular attachment.” For example, some universal modular attachments are attachable to any cylindrical eye drop container having a diameter ranging from 20 millimeters (mm) to 27 mm. A connector ring that substantially matches the diameter of the medication container secures the universal modular attachment to the medication container. The connector ring may be fixedly affixed to the medication container, while the universal modular attachment may be detachably connectable to the connector ring. Each universal modular attachment also includes sensor(s) that are configured to detect administrations of medication.

  • Patent number: 9931481
Abstract: A metered dose inhaler (“MDI”) applicator is disclosed that includes a carrier, a housing, an adjuster and a lever. The carrier defines an aperture configured to receive a boot of a MDI. The housing is configured to be assembled with the carrier and to move in a vertical direction within the MID applicator relative to the carrier. The adjuster is configured to move between a locked position and an unlocked position, wherein when the adjuster is in the locked position, the adjuster is configured to prevent the carrier and the housing from moving in one or more directions relative to one another. The lever is pivotally connected to the housing and is configured to transfer a force applied to the lever to a canister of the MDI and to actuate the MDI to dispense an aerosolized medicine.

Abstract: Medical devices, systems, and methods for pain management and other applications may apply cooling with at least one probe inserted through an exposed skin surface of skin. The cooling may remodel one or more target tissues so as to effect a desired change in composition of the target tissue and/or a change in its behavior, often to interfere with transmission of pain signals along sensory nerves. Alternative embodiments may interfere with the function of motor nerves, the function of contractile muscles, and/or some other tissue included in the contractile function chain so as to inhibit muscle contraction and thereby alleviate associated pain. In some embodiments, other sources of pain such as components of the spine (optionally including herniated disks) may be treated.

  • Patent number: 9839930
Abstract: A process for flushing a dispenser that dispenses liquids, especially perfumes, containing microcapsules. The dispenser has a first reservoir for a first composition containing microcapsules and a second reservoir for a second composition containing a volatile solvent. The dispenser also has a swirl chamber and a premix chamber. The process simultaneously pumps the first and second compositions into the premix chamber and then into the swirl chamber. The pumping of the first composition is halted while the pumping of the second composition continues, and this provides an extra volume of the volatile solvent, which flushes the dispenser to prevent clogging by the microcapsules.

  • Patent number: 9833803
Abstract: An apparatus and system that efficiently and effectively delivers a sanitizing fluid to ducts in the form of a fog or mist is described. A canister that contains a liquid sanitizing solution is attached to a compressor and includes a straw that has an internal passageway that extends into the liquid and a venturi tube above the level of the liquid that connects with the internal passageway in the straw. The headspace above the liquid in the canister is pressurized, causing fluid to flow upwardly in the straw when a trigger is depressed, drawing fluid upwardly in part by the venturi. As the liquid passes the venturi the pressurized air that is flowing into the venturi causes the fluid to form a fine mist. The mist, under pressure from the compressor, is routed into a flexible delivery tube that has been previously positioned in a duct system. The terminal end of the tube has an atomizing ball attached thereto and the atomizing ball has a series of orifices through which the misted, atomized fluid is delivered.
