Abstract: A haircut recording method, system and device, include a computing device having a feedback unit, and a hand-held device having a hair property measurement unit. The measurement unit is configured to detect a hair property value of interest, such as a hair length representing value, when the measurement unit is arranged adjacent to a haired portion. A position detection unit is configured to detect an actual position of the measurement unit. A record control unit is configured to operate the position detection unit for tracking the actual position of the measurement unit, operate the measurement unit for assigning detected hair property values to position values, deduce a condition parameter, such as a quality parameter, and provide user feedback based on the deduced condition parameter.

Abstract: A programmable hair trimming system has a hair trimming device including a receiving element configured to receive an electromagnetic field and at least one source element having an electromagnetic field source. The hair cutting length of the hair trimming device is adjustable, and the at least one source element is external to the hair trimming device and arranged to be placed in a fixed relationship to the head of a person. The hair trimming system is arranged to detect, by an electromagnetic tracking system, the position of the hair trimming device in relation to the at least one source element. Further the hair trimming system relates this position to a previously generated hair length profile data regarding the desired hair trimming length at various positions. Based on the desired hair trimming length at the sensed position, the trimmer cutting length is automatically and dynamically adjusted.

The Mohawk guide consists of two side pieces, two adjustable spacers/connectors, and two clips. The bottom edges of the two side pieces are contoured to follow the shape of the human head from the start of the hairline to the nape of the neck.

Each of the slots has a plurality of teeth positioned therein such that each of the slots is configured to receive teeth from a hair clipper. The panels of each of the guards are slidable such that hair positioned on an inner side of the associated one of the guards is cut when an associated one of the panels is moved along a length of the guard and the hair is engaged by the teeth of the hair clipper.

Abstract: A hair trimming guide offers four edges; a first curved edge, a second curved edge, a first straight edge, and a second straight edge. These four edges allow a person to easily trim or shape their hair, such as a beard, by following the edges of the hair trimming guide. The curved edges are used when a person wants a curved outline to their beard, such as along the cheeks. If no curved outlines are desired, a user can simply trim with the straight edges. For use with larger or smaller facial areas, the hair trimming guide can be offered in multiple sizes, providing a larger size for larger facial areas and a smaller size for smaller facial areas, especially around the nose and mouth. The hair trimming guide is flat and smooth which enables it to be pressed against a user's face without causing discomfort.

Abstract: A hair styling tool for creating an uneven part having a base with a handle, a stem and a web portion. First and second tines extend transversely from the web portion, and in the same direction, generally toward the handle. The tines are spaced apart a distance sufficient to lift and separate hair as the tool is moved through hair to form an uneven part. A method for forming an uneven part in hair includes the steps of engaging first and/or second spaced tines of a hair styling tool with a scalp of a person's head at a desired location for the start of the part near the person's face. Moving the hair styling tool toward the desired location of the part end using an alternating pattern to form a desired predetermined uneven hair part. Finally, slightly lifting a handle of the hair styling tool when the second tine has reached the desired location of the part end to separate and capture hair between the first and second tines so that the captured hair may be divided by the tool user.

Abstract: A hair styling comb comprising a body having a handle, a release cone, and a guide measuring system that are combined to precisely separate hair in orderly rows for braiding. The guide measuring system facilitates successive measurement of a partial circumference of spaced apart sections of the scalp. Each section is radially measured by successive placement of the comb measuring section upon the scalp, followed by linear movements of the comb until a peripheral measurement is approximated by the combined readings. The spaced apart circumference regions are reduced to increments by dividing their length measurements by the number of desired braid rows the stylist is creating. The release cone is placed in the grooves of the bottom of the braid and ten slid through smoothly upwardly to the scalp of the nape line. The release cone releases the grips of the braids.

Abstract: A hair cutting method includes positioning a strand of hair between normally open blade ends of a scissors. The scissors have a pair of elongated members, each member having a blade end, an intermediate gripping section, and a spring end. Each blade end has a cutting edge. The elongated members are connected to each other by a pivot element disposed near a junction where the blade ends and intermediate gripping sections join. The spring ends each have tips which are connected together to bias the elongated members, so that the blade ends move about the pivot element into an open position. The blade ends come together in a cutting fashion with their cutting edges engaging to trim the edge of the nail upon the user grasping both intermediate gripping sections between the user's thumb and a finger of the user and pressing the intermediate gripping sections towards each other. Each blade end as measured from a tip of the blade to the point of connection with the pivot element has a length exceeding two inches.

Abstract: A generally hand-shaped hair styling device for independently retaining a plurality of separate sections of hair, comprising a rigid frame assembly comprising a curved rigid base with a plurality of adjacent elongated rigid members joined to and arising in a perpendicular manner from the curved rigid base in such a manner that slots are formed between the adjacent elongated members, each of the slots being of sufficient height and width to accommodate and retain a section of hair containing multiple strands of hair, the section consisting of a sufficient number of strands of hair as to be suitable for braiding, wherein the slots contain adjacent resilient surfaces in close proximity to each other, thereby enhancing the ability of the device to retain the sections of the hair.

The bed has a clipper bearing surface 31, a forward segmented guide wall 32 and a rearward guide wall 33 for guiding the electric clipper upon the comb.

Abstract: A hair nature measuring instrument comprises a hair catching portion, a rotational handle portion for rotating the hair catching portion, a rotation transmitting element having a restoring resilient force and interconnecting the hair catching portion and the rotational handle portion, and a grip portion for loosely circumscribing the rotation transmitting element. The nature of hair (hardness) is measured based on a correlation between the amount of rotation of the rotational handle portion and the amount of rotation of the hair catching portion when the hair catching portion already catching hair is rotated by the rotational handle portion.

Abstract: A portable hair trimming device for personal grooming operations includes a thin triangular housing having a hollow interior portion. An open slotted portion is formed in one side wall of the housing and a trimming implement has one end pivotally mounted adjacent an apex of the housing and is mounted for movement through the open slotted side wall into and out of the hollow interior housing portion. The trimming implement has a first side edge provided with a moustache comb and an opposite side edge provided with a trimming razor. A double-edged razor blade is mounted in a reversible manner in the trimming razor. A cylindrical nose hair trimmer is mounted in a holder on one side wall of the housing. A shallow triangular receptacle having a removable cover is provided on one face of the housing for storing a quantity of moustache wax.
