  • Patent number: 6832614
Abstract: Various embodiments of wefted hair extension attachments include attachment strands extending from the weft edge of the attachment. These attachment strands are braided or intertwined directly into the braids formed in the native hair of the wearer as those braids are being formed, without need for additional sewing and thread, adhesives, or other attachment apparatus. Use of the present hair extensions saves considerable time for both the person who is installing the hair extensions on the wearer, as well as for the wearer. This is due to the combining of the braiding of the wearer's native hair into an attachment braid or braids, and the securing of the hair extension(s) to the braid(s), in a single step, rather than requiring the braids to be formed and then attaching the hair extensions in a subsequent step, as is accomplished conventionally.

  • Patent number: 6733856
Abstract: A double eyelid forming tape or string that can form an eyelid with a clear fold easily and safely in a simple manner, and a method of manufacturing the same. An article of manufacture for forming a fold in an eyelid of a user is constructed by applying an adhesive layer on a narrow tape member, which is resiliently stretchable so as to return to its original unstretched state after being stretched, and providing holding portions having no adhering property on the surfaces at both ends thereof for holding by fingertips of the user. A fold in the eyelid of the user is formed by pressing the stretched tape member on the position of the eyelid where the user wants to form a fold in a state where both ends thereof are held and stretched, adhering the tape member thereon with the adhesive layer, and releasing the stretched tape member. Therefore, when the tape member under a tension resiliently contracts, it breaks into the eyelid and forms an eyelid having a fold.

Abstract: The wig band is a device for keeping a wig or hairpiece attached to a head. It is most useful to people, with Alopecia or hair loss, such as patients undergoing chemotherpy. It is also useful to people who use stocking caps and other cap materials to keep their own hair from interfering with the fit of the wig, because a wig or hairpiece with a closer fit-to the scalp gives a more natural look. A wig is attached to the band by coupling loop-type Velcro™ pieces to the wig itself and hook-type Velcro™ pieces to the band. The hook-type Velcro pieces are attached to the band at the area near the temple area of the head. The band is placed on the head as if it were a brim to a hat. The wig is then placed on the head over the band causing the hook and loop-type Velcro™ pieces to mesh and bond, thereby securing the wig or hairpiece to the user's head.

  • Patent number: 6446634
Abstract: Disclosed is an automated wig manufacturing system. A two-dimensional thin wig base (11) of fabric material woven by resin fiber, for example, is supplied to above a conveyor table (21), whereas an artificial hair (30) is supplied to the underside of the base. The base is subjected to tensioning rollers (23) so that it is placed on the table in a stretched condition. A reciprocating needle (41) penetrates the stretched base to engage the artificial hair, which is pulled above to thereby transplanted on the base. The hair transplanting operation in such a manner is repeated at different points, as the table is moved in predetermined direction(s) with a predetermined pitch. After the hair transplanting operation is completed, the base is released from being stretched, thereby allowing shrinkage of the base due to its material shrinkability. The base with the artificial hairs transplanted is then formed into a three-dimensional configuration to provide fittability to a human head.

  • Patent number: 6405736
Abstract: The present invention resides in self adhesive hair extensions and a method of attaching then to the head of a wearer. The self adhesive hair extensions comprise a plurality of either natural or synthetic hair strands attached to a base support comprising a strip of woven material or hair attachment weave or welt at one end. A fastener comprising a self adhesive tape portion and removable backing is sewn or otherwise secured by stitching to the hair extensions in order to prevent the adhesive tape from being separated or repositioned during use. The method of use comprise separating a users hair along a part line into an upper portion and a lower portion wherein the upper portion is temporarily swept up and away from the part line. The removable backing is removed from the adhesive hair fastener exposing the removable self adhesive tape, said self adhesive tape is applied to the scalp or back of head of user.

Abstract: A hair adornment device consisting of a pair of hingedly connected clip elements. Each clip element has a plurality of spaced-apart tines positioned to receive, in the spaces between them, tines of the other clip element. Each clip element has a gripping element opposite the tines. The two clip elements are pivotally connected between the tines and the gripping element. One or more lengths of hair are secured to the clip elements and substantially cover outwardly facing surfaces of the clip below the tines. The hair lengths can be secured to the clip elements, on inside or outside surfaces. Where lengths of hair are attached to both clip elements, they can extend loosely therefrom, or they can be gathered and joined adjacent to the gripping elements.
