  • Patent number: 6000175
Abstract: A portable protective structure includes a framework made of corner connectors and various poles, such as vertical supports, horizontal supports and roof supports. Certain of the support poles may be made of telescopic tubes of circular cross-section joined together by spring locks in the inner tube projecting into arcuate slots in the outer tube. Pairs of poles, such as horizontal poles, may be connected to a corner connector by the use of a resilient cord extending through the connector with a spring clip on each end of the cord inserted into the horizontal pole. The roof may include a peak having four sets of extending walls into which each roof pole or eave may be connected with the opposite end of each roof pole inserted into a corner connector.

  • Patent number: 5918613
Abstract: A detachable tee-top includes a framework having base portions fastened to two opposed sides of a center console of a boat and consisting of elongated tubes having fasteners fastened to the center console by threaded fasteners. The framework includes a further elongated tube for each of the elongated tubes making up the base portions with each of the further elongated tubes being sized to be slidably receivable within the upwardly facing opening of a respective one of the base portion elongated tubes. Thus, the further elongated tubes or pipes may easily be removed from the base portion elongated tubes when it is desired to remove the detachable tee-top from the associated vessel. The tee-top also includes a horizontally oriented support frame for a cover. Flexible straps attached to this support frame are stretched downwardly and attached to the base portions of the device to support the frame in high wind conditions. The framework is disclosed in two alternative configurations of elongated tubes.

  • Patent number: 5718254
Abstract: An adjustable bed canopy and curtain system including a sheet of fabric, at least four vertical post and a frame member. The frame member has a first pair of "L" shaped tubular members and a second pair of "L" shaped tubular members. Each of the first and second pair of "L" shaped tubular members have a lower elongated portion and an upper elongated portion. Each of the first and second pair of "L" shaped tubular members have a horizontal bar projecting from one of the lower elongated portions and capable of coupling with a horizontal bar of another of the lower elongated portions. The upper elongated portion, of each of the first pair of tubular members, receives the upper elongated portions of the second pair of tubular members when the horizontal bars of each tubular member are coupled. Each of the lower elongated portions, of each of the first and second tubular members, are positioned over one of the four vertical post when the first and second pair of tubular members are coupled.

  • Patent number: 5579610
Abstract: A net for covering raked leaves and similar plant debris. The net is bounded on two sides by two telescoping poles. A chain links the ends the ends of the two poles, and a second chain links the remaining ends of the two poles. The net is thus weighted to hug the ground and resist displacement by the wind. The net, being flexible, accommodates leaf piles of different volumes and dimensions. The telescoping poles and flexible chains both hold the net down by gravity, and also influence the overall configuration of the net. Opposing sides of the net attached to the poles remain straight, although of variable length due to telescoping. Opposing sides of the net attached to the chains are reconfigurable due to flexibility of the chains. The net is useful for immediately covering collected leaves, and preventing dispersion by the wind. Also, the net is suitable for longer term use in composting. Rings attached the poles enable stakes to secure the net in place for composting or other long term uses.
