Abstract: An umbrella support construction stably supports a heavy umbrella such as a garden umbrella. The support construction includes a base having a through bore with a top and a bottom opening. An insert is provided which is sized to be received in the through bore. The insert includes a central opening for receiving the pole of an umbrella and small through holes which are capable of receiving screws. The screws can be tightened to bear against the umbrella pole to retain same in the insert. Complementary formed shoulders are provided on the insert and the base which prevent removal of the insert through the top opening of the through bore.
Abstract: A large umbrella arrangement includes a stand (2) having a mast (10) to which an extendable and retractable support arm (4) is connected. A connecting member (12) is pivotally connected to the middle area of the support arm (4) and at its other end is pivotally connected to the upper end of the mast (10). One end (26) of the support arm (4) engages the mast (10) by means of a roll (32). This end (26) is further provided with a fork (28) whose arms (30) overlap and receive the mast (10). The support arm (4) is fixable by means of the fork (28) at different height positions on the mast (10), with such fixing in different heights involving the use of an arresting bolt (36) insertable in a bore (34) in the mast (10). At the free end of the support arm (4) is a pin (20) protruding from the support arm from which the umbrella (8) is hung through a hanging means (6).
Abstract: A portable hunting blind assembly having a collapsible umbrella roof structure supported from a central hollow cylinder and extending outwardly for terminating in a polygonal body having sides defined by the ribs of the roof structure, a handle supporting of the umbrella roof structure telescopically connected to an internal sleeve in the cylinder by means of a pivot arrangement, the handle received at its free end in a stake support structure or member having its distal end securely anchored in the ground, and an array of panel screening material sections depending from each of the polygonal sides of the roof structure and held firmly in the ground by anchor devices.
Abstract: The flexible cord used to erect the umbrella from the top, passes through a cantilever tube, the inner end of which is removably supported in a bracket. A notch in the bracket tensions the canopy and locks the umbrella to the bracket by catching a bead fixed on the cord. Three ways of supporting the bracket are shown, as is a way of storing the device.
