Biased Open Isolation Valve Patents (Class 137/118.03)
  • Patent number: 10309184
Abstract: A retrievable locking ball landing tool of the present disclosure allows for fluid circulation while running in the well. Once a plug (e.g., ball) is pumped downhole, the tool allows pressure isolation to activate hydraulic component(s) of a liner string or the like. Being retrievable, the tool eliminates the need to drill out of aluminum components once the setting operations are complete. The retrievable tool can also be used as a bridge plug to allow for wellbore isolation for a period of time. For example, the tool used as a bridge plug can be used to set a liner assembly and can suspend the well until future stimulation can be completed.

  • Patent number: 10267426
Abstract: A valve assembly has a port selection assembly with an inlet fluid path and a plurality of outlet fluid paths and a servo-driven barrel. The barrel includes a slot that is aligned with the inlet fluid path. The barrel also includes multiple pockets. The valve assembly also includes ball seals, each of which is at least partially disposed within a respective pocket. The rotation of the barrel moves the ball seals to block or unblock one or more of the outlet fluid paths, thereby controlling the flow of fluid from the inlet fluid path, through the slot, and through the outlet fluid path.

  • Patent number: 10118666
Abstract: A bicycle hydraulic device is basically provided with a base member, a first plug and a second plug. The base member has a hydraulic fluid passageway, a first opening communicating with the hydraulic fluid passageway and a second opening communicating with the hydraulic fluid passageway. The first plug is disposed in the first opening, and having a receiving hole. The second plug is disposed in the second opening. The second plug has a protrusion extending into the receiving hole of the first plug to couple the first and second plugs to the base member.

  • Patent number: 9464510
Abstract: A trigger mechanism for a ball activated device comprises a seat sleeve with seat defining members forming a fluid seal between the ball and the seat in an initial state and allowing the ball to pass through the seat in a final state. An alternating member can move radially in an aperture through an inner sleeve and abuts an outer surface on the seat sleeve in the initial state, is received in a recess on the seat sleeve in an intermediate state, and is received in a groove in the outer sleeve in the final state. A protective sleeve may extend axially from the seat sleeve over a seat receiving area. The mechanism is suitable for cementing and fracturing as particles cannot penetrate to its moving parts.

  • Patent number: 8616227
Abstract: Multilevel microfluidic devices include a control line that can simultaneously actuate valves for both sample and reagent lines. Microfluidic devices are configured to contain a first reagent in a first chamber and a second reagent in a second chamber, where either or both of the first and second reagents are contained at a desired or selected pressure. Operation of a microfluidic device includes transmitting second reagent from the second chamber to the first chamber, for mixing or contact with the first reagent. Microfluidic device features such as channels, valves, chambers, can be at least partially contained, embedded, or formed by or within one or more layers or levels of an elastomeric block.

  • Patent number: 8251090
Abstract: A faucet includes a faucet body, a control knob, a follower and a switching valve. The faucet body has a water inlet, a water outlet and a switching port. The switching valve includes a driven rod moved with the control knob, a sealing plate having a plurality of connecting holes, a pressure release plate detachably pressing the sealing plate, and an elastic member mounted between the sealing plate and the pressure release plate. Thus, the switching valve can release the water pressure in the faucet body automatically so that the sealing plate is moved downward by its gravity to detach from the switching port, and the water inlet, the switching port and the water outlet are connected at a normal state to allow passage of water to prevent the water from being introduced into the shower head at the next usage.

  • Patent number: 6857440
Abstract: In a method for a safety valve plus such a safety valve, the safety valve has the form of a valve body axially displaceable in a cavity with an inlet on either side of which are arranged outlets, whereby liquid and/or gas flow takes place from the inlet and past the valve body via a flow path to the outlets. On the valve body side, the flow path is provided with a structure that raises the friction in relation to the liquid and/or gas flow between the inlet and outlets.
