  • Patent number: 11409310
Abstract: A unit for the regulation for control of a fluid pressure, having at least one housing section and a switching film connected to the at least one housing section. A chemically inert, non-rubber-like PTFEswitching film switching film is disposed in the valve housing and switches at pressure differences of 1 mbar to 250 mbar for regulating, opening or blocking a flow of a fluid from the inlet to the outlet. The switching film is formed of a fluorine and carbon containing polymer material. The switching film has a plate-shaped flat body with a bending region and has a central closure region surrounded by the bending region. The bending region, when switching the switching film, moves the central closure region relative to a valve seat of the valve housing in an axial direction of the plate-shaped flat body toward or away from the valve seat by a stretch free or low-stretch bending movement.

The hinged member is preferably in the shape of a hole to prevent tearing and maintain the correct slit length.

Abstract: A vacuum breaking device includes a housing, a sealing base, a floating cup and a sealing ring. The housing has a liquid inlet, a liquid outlet and an air passageway. The sealing base is installed in the air passageway, and the floating cup is installed in an inner chamber of the sealing base. The sealing ring is fitted around an upper end of the floating cup for properly sealing the outer-air inlet in the upper portion of the sealing base and communicating with the inner chamber. The floating cup has an annular flange for increasing the buoyancy of the floating cup, so that the outer-air inlet may be quickly sealed up. The annular flange has plural air paths, so the vacuum condition may be broken immediately when a vacuum pressure is produced in the device.

Abstract: A backflow-prevention system that substantially prevents contaminant backflow at a treatment site. The system includes a fluid ejector tube for insertion into the patient's mouth and for removal of fluids when a threshold vacuum pressure is applied. A backflow prevention device receives fluid from the fluid ejector tube and includes an internally positioned valve. The valve prevents contaminant backflow upon release of the vacuum pressure or a reduction in the vacuum pressure. Upon application of vacuum pressure, the valve moves into an open position to allow fluid flow away from the treatment site. The system can also include a disposable cover member that extends over at least portions of the fluid ejector tip, the backflow prevention device, and other features such as an ON/OFF valve assembly of a suction system. Similar principles of backflow prevention can be applied to fluid dispensers (e.g.

  • Patent number: 7427037
Abstract: A showerhead facilitating draining of water retained following shut-off. The showerhead includes a housing swivelably fitted on a ball-adapter which in turn includes an integral threaded segment for attachment to a water feed line. An air pathway is formed to extend from inside to outside the ball-adapter where it opens to generally atmospheric pressure. A flexible check valve in the form of an annular skirt is retained by an integral ring portion where the ball-adapter is threaded to the feed line. Under water-flow pressure, the skirt expands, blocking the passage. Upon shut-off, the skirt withdraws, instantly opening the air passage. Opening the showerhead to atmospheric pressure relieves the normally occurring suction effect which keeps water from draining completely from the showerhead spray holes. Thus avoiding the widespread problem of trapped water slowly evaporating and leaving behind stubborn and unsightly mineral deposits that eventually build up to clog showerhead spray holes.

Abstract: A siphon inhibiting valve comprises first and second portions of a housing structure and a buoyant member disposed within the housing structure for movement along a first axis between an inlet port and an outlet port. The buoyant member is shaped to have a cylindrical portion and another portion which is shaped in the form of a frustum of a cone. Upward movement of the buoyant member causes an elastomeric seal on the buoyant member to come into contact with an internal lip formed in the housing structure, thereby creating a seal that prevents an upward flow of water in a direction from the outlet port to the inlet port. When cooling water is drained from the outlet port area, the buoyant member is forced downwardly into an open position by its own weight and the weight of the water on its inlet port side. This free movement of the buoyant member allows the water on the inlet port side to drain without manual intervention.
