Having Valve Head Or Seat Packing Patents (Class 137/315.23)
  • Patent number: 11220982
Abstract: The invention relates to a flap device for controlling a gas flow through a pipe, in particular to an exhaust gas flap device for an exhaust train of a motor vehicle, comprising at least one flap which is arranged in a flap housing, in particular in a tubular flap housing, rotatable, in particular rotatable by a drive unit, about an axis of rotation of a flap shaft between an open position and a closed position, with a spring means being provided which, on a rotation of the flap from the open position into the closed position, tangentially and/or radially elastically loads the flap shaft at the latest in the closed position of the flap, and with at least one section of the spring means being directly or indirectly rotationally fixedly connected to the flap housing with respect to a rotation about the axis of rotation.

  • Patent number: 10920891
Abstract: Valve assemblies with butterfly valves for use as a double isolation & bleed (DIB) valve and a double block & bleed (DBB) valve. The embodiments may have a twin-disc design with a non-separable, valve body having a central bore. A pair of butterfly valves may reside in the central bore, each having an annular seal and a rotatable disc that contacts the annular seal to prevent flow of fluid into space between the butterfly valves. Implementations of the embodiments configure the annular seal with a sloped contact surface at an angle to positively seal the rotatable discs in the preferred direction of incoming flow. In this way, the valves can always close in response to either uni-directional flow into one end of the central bore or bi-directional flow into both ends of the central bore, respectively or simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 9127775
Abstract: Flexible seals for process control valves are disclosed. An example disclosed seal includes a seal for use with a butterfly valve. The example seal includes a substantially flexible ring-shaped carrier configured to be moveably fixed within the butterfly valve and to surround a flow control aperture therein. The example seal includes a seal stiffener adjacent the substantially flexible ring-shaped carrier to increase the stiffness of the substantially flexible ring-shaped carrier in a first flow direction. The example seal includes a substantially rigid seal ring to engage an opposing surface.

  • Patent number: 7225825
Abstract: An assembly comprises a valve, a valve seal, and a piece of epoxy. The valve comprises a valve gate, a housing, and a plurality of screws. The housing comprises a fluid passageway and a groove that extends into the housing from the fluid passageway. Each of the screws extends into the groove of the housing. The valve gate is movable relative to the housing between an opened and closed position. The valve seal is positioned at least partially within the groove. The piece of epoxy surrounds at least a portion of each of the screws and has a geometry that is interlocked with the valve seal and with each of the screws in a manner securing the valve seal to each of the screws and in a manner such that the valve seal is positioned to compress against the valve gate when the valve gate is in the closed position.

  • Patent number: 6497245
Abstract: A throttle assembly including a bore wall to which a seal member is previously attached is inserted into a key-like slot of an intake air passage body, and flanges are fixed to each other by screws. A bore inner wall of the bore wall is placed to correspond to an inner wall of an intake air passage, and the seal member completely seals between the intake air passage body and the throttle assembly. That is, the throttle assembly including the seal member is inserted into the key-like slot, so that the throttle assembly is easily attached to the intake air passage body, a sealing mechanism therebetween is simplified, and a stress strain of the bore wall is prevented.
