Manual Rotating Means Patents (Class 137/333)
  • Publication number: 20120125449
Abstract: The invention relates to a valve device including a built-in expansion valve and a flow selector. The valve function is provided by a blocker mounted so as to be inverted. The expansion valve is arranged laterally and communicates with a high-pressure chamber immediately downstream from the blocker and with a low-pressure chamber via a side passage. A device for mechanically controlling the blocker is provided in a chamber sealingly separated from the high-pressure chamber and from the low-pressure chamber. A flow selector in the form of a disc with a calibrated opening is provided in the low-pressure chamber, the disc engaging with a passage directly linked to the outlet of the device. The mechanical control device engages with a control pin of the disc.

  • Patent number: 4589439
Abstract: A flow-control valve assembly particularly useful in fire fighting apparatus comprising a contoured valve seat mounted axially within a valve body and a balanced tubular valve member reciprocably movable in the valve body coaxially with said valve seat for providing proportional flow control, manual valve actuating means for reciprocably moving the tubular valve member including a disc rotatably mounted in a bore formed in a lateral surface of the valve body on a pivot member on which a handle is pivotally mounted and a pin spaced from the pivotal member extending through the handle and the disc which engages in a circumferential groove formed in the outer surface of the tubular valve member for effecting reciprocable movement of the valve member when the handle is reciprocably moved. The disc can be made of deformable material and provided with means for expanding the disc to impart a braking action on the movement of the handle.

  • Patent number: 4292991
Abstract: A valve for use under severe throttling conditions, includes a housing with fluid inlet and outlet passages communicating with a chamber inside the housing. An abrasive resistant throttling tube in fluid communication with the inlet passage projects into the chamber. Also, an abrasive-resistant throttling plug is movably positioned inside the housing so that it can be moved between a first position wherein its end is spaced from the mouth of the throttling tube and a second position wherein it obstructs the mouth of the throttling tube. As mating surfaces of the plug and tube are eroded away by fluid flowing through the valve, the plug is advanced further and further toward the throttling tube so that unabraded surfaces of the plug and tube are presented to one another whereby maximum fluid throttling is achieved despite such wear.
