Abstract: A valve for controlling a “guaranteed” back up pressurised liquid supply to a tank fed from another primary supply. The valve controls the quantity of water in the tank between a predetermined upper and lower level. The valve has an inlet and an outlet interconnected by a restricted passage controlled by a diaphragm. The passage is formed by a bore and a reciprocally operative rod is mounted therein. The rod is connected to a support lever which is spring biased to close the valve. The support lever has an operating weight element suspended therefrom by a depending cord. The operating weight has two sections, which have a combined weight providing substantially neutral buoyancy in water. The cord length between the lever and the lower operating weight sections determines the lower water level threshold. The cord length between the two weight sections determines the differential between the lower and upper level.

  • Patent number: 6588449
Abstract: Fuel shut-off device for use in a diesel fuel tank to discontinue fuel flow to a fuel pump comprises a valve seat forming a fuel flow opening for fuel to flow from the fuel tank to the fuel pump, a fuel control valve cooperably disposed relative to the valve seat to control fuel flow from the fuel tank to the fuel pump, and a spring biasing the fuel inlet valve to a closed position against the valve seat. A diaphragm is provided having a first valve-actuating side for moving the fuel inlet valve relative to the valve seat against bias of the spring and a second side. The second side is communicated to a control chamber having an inlet orifice that is communicated to the fuel tank and an outlet orifice that is communicated to said fuel pump.

Abstract: The invention relates to a faucet for filling tanks known as silent and/or fast-closing faucets. The faucet comprises a basic structure and functionalities such as those disclosed in Patent 9400095. The device assembly controlling opening and closing of the faucet has important improvements in comparison with other conventional faucets and in comparison with the above-mentioned patent. The faucet also includes a lever system connecting the float and the piston acting upon the opening and closing device. In additional, improvement deals with the telescopic structure of the fluid outlet tubes to the tank in order to regulate the height thereof depending on the depth of the tank so that the fluid is always discharged into the water with the aim of preventing noises.

  • Patent number: 6510866
Abstract: A float assembly for a ball cock assembly for a flush tank of a toilet includes an inner float component which is a buoyant element operatively connected to a shutoff valve atop a standpipe supplying water to the tank. The inner float component is disposed in an outer float component which is in the general form of a container disposed within the flush tank so that its top edge is at a selected water level. In the tank-filling portion of a flush cycle, when the water rises to the selected level, the outer float component suddenly becomes filled with water, causing the inner float element to abruptly rise, shutting off the flow of water into the flush tank. In this manner, the buoyant element is caused to rise at a rate which is greater than a rate at which the water is rising in the tank.

Abstract: A valve (19) primarily designed as a float valve to control the flow of water under pressure into a cistern has an upstream chamber (22) and a downstream chamber (23). The upstream chamber (22) communicates an inlet (21) for mains water supply with outlets (17, 17A) and the downstream chamber (23) has an outlet (24) which is closed by a valve (25) when a float rises a float rod (14). A primary valve member assembly comprises a piston (3) to the downstream end of which a diaphragms (5) is attached. When the secondary valve (25) is closed pressure on diaphragm (5) causes piston (3) to close the inlet (21). When the secondary valve (25) is opened by the rising float the piston (3) is expelled from the inlet (21) allowing water to flow into the cistern through the upstream chamber (22).

  • Patent number: 6478044
Abstract: A snap-action piloted fill valve for controlling the level in a liquid storage tank, the valve having a float and a weight cup that are adjustably interconnected by an elongated sleeve slidably disposed on a stem extending upwardly from a valve body mounted inside a tank, the weight cup being further connected to a snap-action beam attached to the valve body. The snap-action beam controls operation of a pilot, which in turn causes the fill valve to open when the beam is in its upward position and to close when the beam is in its downward postion. Use as a toilet valve is also disclosed.
