With Toggle Or Second Lever Connected To Valve Patents (Class 137/445)
  • Patent number: 4192341
Abstract: A float actuated valve mechanism for automatically removing a predetermined amount of accumulated liquid condensate from a sump area of a gas pressurized drain trap or the like so as to regulate the level of liquid in such a sump area. A four-bar linkage between a float and a valve plug provides a non-linearly varying mechanical advantage throughout the movement of the float. In a closed position the valve plug mates with a rigid seating surface and an elastomeric seating surface to provide a wear-resistant seal.

  • Patent number: 4114641
Abstract: A sewage relief valve includes a cylindrical housing mounted on the upper end of an upper end of a riser connected to a sewer line, the housing includes a cylindrical through-bore with the upper end of the bore sealed by means of a dome cover held in place by a resilient O-ring, and a float supported beneath the housing on a lift linkage is responsive to rise with the level of liquid in the riser for forcing the cover from the end of the housing thereby relieving the sewage line. The lift linkage means is supported within the housing by support means which permits the linkage to be lifted and carried upward out of the housing by the float means when liquid flows therethrough.

  • Patent number: 3994029
Abstract: Described herein is a pressure activated fluid control system particularly adapted for use as a flushing mechanism for toilets of the water tank type. The system includes a push-button actuated needle valve assembly which, in the shutoff position, presses against a movable valve seat; a pressure actuated direction flow valve; and a tank ball lifting mechanism. The direction flow valve is in fluid communication with the needle valve assembly and includes a floating piston which upon actuation of the needle valve, allows incoming water under line pressure to pass to the lifting mechanism, raise a lift piston and lift the tank ball from the cistern drain. The tank ball depends from a piston disposed within a water filled lower cylinder and following the draining of the cistern, the tank ball slowly and precisely returns to the cistern drain as the water below the piston head within the lower cylinder passes from the cylinder through a check valve disposed about the piston rod.

  • Patent number: 3982557
Abstract: A fluid flow control valve for automatic fluid level control in a reservoir is provided having a valve chamber with axially aligned inlet and outlet orifices, a valve closure element disposed in the chamber and having an actuating stem projecting outwardly through the outlet orifice, and a float-type lever arm engageable with the actuating stem. The valve closure element is normally maintained in closing relationship to the outlet orifice by the pressurized fluid at the inlet side with the valve designed for operation over a wide range of fluid pressures. Movement of the lever arm in response to the fluid level is effective in rocking the valve closure element through its actuating stem to a position where fluid may flow through the outlet orifice. The lever arm is provided with a weighted float to assure positive operation of the valve in high pressure fluid systems and the lever arm is formed with means readily permitting adjustment thereof to precisely determine the fluid level in the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 3965903
Abstract: A suction bottle assembly for effecting drainage from a patient. The assembly has a float, which is responsive to the level of drainage in the bottle, that is connected to the cover by a preferably parallel bar bracket. The bracket causes the float to rise substantially vertically and also seals off the vacuum inlet and opens a vacuum relief valve to create a pressure balance within the bottle with the outside atmospheric pressure, thus preventing overflow.
