Valves Deform To Close Passage Patents (Class 137/601.04)
  • Patent number: 10006354
Abstract: An internal combustion engine comprising a dual flow turbocharger includes an annular support with at least one tongue-like end wherein the annular support is adjustable in a translational fashion along the turbines axis of rotation. Moving the annular support influences the degree of separation behavior of turbine channels by varying a tongue spacing to the rotor.

  • Patent number: 9423040
Abstract: Valve of the type having a body which is provided with an inlet and an outlet of a fluid which are reciprocally put in flow communication by means of a communication chamber in which said communication chamber can be occluded by means of closure means and in which the communication chamber is divided in a first chamber and a second chamber, each putting in flow communication the inlet and the outlet of the fluid according to a parallel configuration. The first chamber is provided with first closing means, the second chamber is provided with second closing means and there is further provided at least one third closing means.

  • Patent number: 8678350
Abstract: Further disclosed herein is a method for controlling fluid flow. The method includes, selectively deforming at least one selectively deformable member disposed between two tubular members that are radially aligned with one another, at least one of the at least one deformable member being positioned between a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet. The method further includes regulating flow of fluid by deforming the at least one deformable member positioned between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet sufficiently to achieve a desired flow rate.

  • Patent number: 8545767
Abstract: This passive one-way valve is used in a connection portion between first and second flow channels, and includes: an inlet portion into which a fluid from the first flow channel flows; an elastic portion for blocking the inlet portion; a rigid portion for supporting the elastic portion from a side opposite to the inlet portion across the elastic portion; a gap portion formed around the rigid portion; and an outlet portion which is in communication with the gap portion for letting the fluid flow out into the second flow channel. Furthermore, the inlet portion is hermetically sealed by the elastic portion being pressed against the inlet portion side by the rigid portion. According to this passive one-way valve, it is possible to provide a simple and inexpensive passive one-way valve without requiring special equipment such as a vacuum pump and pressurized air, and to provide a microfluidic device using the same.

  • Patent number: 8136550
Abstract: An elastic valve and a microfluidic device including the same are provided. The elastic valve includes a channel dented by external pressure so as to be elastically restituted; and a plurality of channel closing protrusions, which comprise elastomer as a material, which are protruded from at least one inner side surface of the channel toward an opposite inner side surface, and which are separated from each other so as not to interrupt a flow of fluids, wherein, when external pressure is applied in order to dent the channel, the plurality of channel closing protrusions are deformed so as to be elastically restituted, thereby closing the channel.
