  • Patent number: 7162884
Abstract: A pressure and vacuum valve manifold system such as may be used, for example, to actuate pneumatic bladders controlling airflow in a forced air HVAC system to provide zone climate control. The valves are individually operable to connect a respective individual bladder to pressure or to vacuum. Two manifolds can be mated and commonly fed pressure and vacuum. The two manifolds can be of identical construction. One manifold chamber from each can be connected into a single large pressure manifold, and another manifold chamber from each can be connected into a single large vacuum manifold. Such connections can be made with fittings which also serve as pressure and vacuum relief valves, respectively. The valve plungers are arranged in a grid, enabling a simple X-Y two-motor servo system to actuate all the valves, one at a time.

  • Patent number: 5992455
Abstract: A dual-stream filling system is used in a packaging machine to introduce at least two flowable materials into a plastic bottle. The dual-stream filling system defines a material flow path therethrough. The system includes a primary filling tube having an inlet end and a discharge end and defining a primary filling tube internal flow region. A secondary filling tube has an inlet end and an outlet end and defines a secondary filling tube internal flow region. The secondary filling tube is positioned at least in part within the primary filling tube internal flow region, penetrating the primary filling tube through the first opening.

Abstract: A balancing valve assembly of a cold and hot water mixing valve including a mixing valve casing having a bottom wall provided with a depression for receiving a balancing valve cover plate. Cold and hot water inlets are provided in the depression, and a balancing valve lower cavity is disposed above the cold and hot water inlets. A balancing valve upper cavity is provided below cold and hot water inlets on the balancing valve cover plate. A washer is disposed between the mixing valve casing and the balancing valve cover plate when coupled so that the balancing valve lower cavity of the casing and the balancing valve upper cavity of the balancing valve cover plate together form a leakage-free space in which a balancing valve body may be secured, thus achieving a structure that is simple and quick to assemble and remains secured alter assembly.

  • Patent number: 5984143
Abstract: A portable holding and mixing tank is provided with a valving assembly, the activation of which responsively enables substantial simultaneous flow of each dissimilar liquid contained within the respective holding compartments to a manifold assembly. The substantial simultaneous flow of each dissimilar liquid to the manifold assembly thereby minimizes (if not eliminates entirely) the possibility that incorrect mixing ratios of the dissimilar chemicals will occur. The manifold assembly mixes the liquids and discharges the mixed liquid through a meter to a transfer conduit. As such, the mixed liquids may be transferred to a storage tank (for example, a storage tank associated with agricultural spraying equipment).

  • Patent number: 5927257
Abstract: A valve assembly for use in an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The valve assembly includes a housing which defines a chamber. The housing further defines an outlet, a first inlet, and a second inlet, each of which is in fluid communication with the chamber. The valve assembly further includes a master valve positioned within the chamber. The master valve isolates the first inlet from the outlet when the master valve is positioned in a seated master position. The master valve places the first inlet in fluid communication with the outlet when the master valve is located in an open master position. The valve assembly still further includes a slave valve positioned within the chamber. The slave valve isolates the second inlet from the outlet when the slave valve is positioned in a seated slave position. The slave valve places the second inlet in fluid communication with the outlet when the slave valve is located in an open slave position.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for precision batch or continuous flow blending of gases are described. Pulsatile precision metering valves having substantially zero dead space are employed to introduce gases to a mixing chamber or manifold in predictable uniform quantities to achieve precision gas blends according to predetermined criteria. During batch processing, gases to be blended are repeatedly characterized by the change in mixing vessel pressure with respect to time immediately after blending. Estimates of additional amounts of a given gas to be added to achieve a desired final partial pressure of the given gas in the mixing vessel are based on empirical data previously measured and stored for the gas in question.

  • Patent number: H1962
Abstract: The valve is designed for the ejection of a plurality of different gases from within the valve, simultaneously, by having a plurality of plenum chambers within the chamber of the valve, and a poppet therein, that are charged with gases under pressure. The gases are sealed within the respective plenum chambers by the action of a spring that urges the poppet against a gas exit port associated with each plenum chamber. Ejection of the gases is accomplished by the application of an electrical current into a coil surrounding the poppet which produces an electromagnetic field that causes a non-ferrous hammer to be driven away from the coil and strike the poppet. Upon being struck by the hammer, the poppet is driven off of the plurality of gas exit ports thereby allowing the gases to be ejected, simultaneously, from the respective plenum chambers into a region of lower pressure.
