  • Patent number: 7900647
Abstract: Water leak detection and prevention systems and methods in which water is only delivered to the water pipes in the building when a faucet or appliance demands water and water is delivered through a normally closed shut off water valve. During the period that the main water is shut off, the water pressure in the water pipes is continuously monitored to detect a water leak in the building. Detection of a leak causes an alarm to be sounded and a continued closure of the shut off valve.

Abstract: The safety valve is provided on the upstream or downstream side of the regulating valve provided in the water supply passage for supplying water to the steam generator. The safety valve does not completely close the regulating valve while the regulating valve is normally opened and closed by a predetermined drive signal. When the regulating valve is completely opened due to abnormality, the safety valve gradually closes the regulating valve by virtue of a water flow and maintains the complete closing of the water supply passage after a lapse of a predetermined time. According to this constitution, the steam oven comprises a mechanism that singularly automatically stops jetting of water without depending on electrical control.

  • Patent number: 7779852
Abstract: The present invention is a water conservation safety shut-off valve assembly for use on locations which normally have intermittent water usage but need to indicate when there is constant water usage, such as a leak. The valve assembly has a valve body with a fluid pathway and a valve plug held in an open position allowing water to flow through the pathway. As water flows through the pathway, a flow detection switch monitors water flowing through the pathway and begins timing duration of water flowing through the pathway. If the water flow through the pathway stops, the timer value is reset to zero. If the water flows through the pathway, and the timer circuit reaches a predetermined value, the valve closes the pathway, stopping the flow of water through the valve assembly.

Abstract: System security and control, also at distance through GSM module, of water supply, liquids and gas supply (of urban facilities for civil houses, cylinder, fixed gas cylinder) by opening and/or closing multiple automatic electromechanical valves. The management system is based on an electronic control divided into gas/section and liquid section and a series of sensors, as presence detectors, detectors of gas and liquids, located in the most appropriate place and at the discretion of the user. As Regards as the valves related to gas section, these valves should be installed outside the house or working place to prevent that the escape of gas that could happen in the section of pipe located before the electronic valve, may spread inside the environment that is monitored, thus thwarting, in this way the installation and use of the system itself. Also for the water/liquid section, for the positioning of the electronic valve, we use the same principles made for the gas section.

Abstract: The invention relates to an electrohydraulic valve system comprising a feeding duct (P), a working duct (A), and a discharge duct (T), a first and a second valve mechanism (20, 30), each of which is provided with a valve piston (3.1), a control device, and a magnetic regulating device for impinging the valve piston (3.1, 3.2) with a controlled actuating force. The first and the second valve mechanism (20, 30) are placed parallel to each other. The first valve mechanism or the second valve mechanism is active and performs the function of the electrohydraulic valve system while the other valve mechanism is passive during operation. The control device of the active valve mechanism activates the passive valve mechanism and deactivates itself when said control device recognizes a fault while the control device of the passive valve mechanism activates itself and deactivates the active valve mechanism when the control device of the passive valve mechanism recognizes a fault.

Abstract: A remotely-actuated residential water supply cut-off system is disclosed. A remotely-actuated cut-off valve interposed in a residential water line downstream of a pressure-reducing valve. An electronic actuator is mounted on the cut-off valve and is remotely actuated to drive a DC motor in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction to open or close the cut-off valve in response to a received signal. The electronic actuator includes a transceiver, a microcontroller and a motor. The microcontroller drives the motor to open or close the valve in response to a wireless signal received by the transceiver. A handheld transceiver unit sends a signal to the actuator to open or close the cut-off valve, or operate in automatic mode.

Abstract: An irrigation controller includes inputs for entry or selection of a watering program and a memory capable of storing the watering program. A plurality of station modules are removably received in a plurality of corresponding receptacles. Each station module includes a station module circuit for switching a source of electrical power to open and close at least one of a plurality of valves. When the station modules are inserted into the receptacles a communication path is established between each station module circuit and the processor. The processor is capable of executing the watering program and sending commands to the station module circuits to open and close the valves in accordance with the watering program. A manually actuable mechanism allows a power signal to be applied to each station module circuit after the station modules have been inserted into their corresponding receptacles and the communication path has been established.

  • Patent number: 7451777
Abstract: The present invention is a water conservation safety shut-off valve assembly for use on locations which normally have intermittent water usage but need to indicate when there is constant water usage, such as a leak. The valve assembly has a valve body with a fluid pathway and a valve plug held in an open position allowing water to flow through the pathway. As water flows through the pathway, a sensing device detects water flowing through the pathway and begins timing duration of water flowing through the pathway. If the water flow through the pathway stops, the timer value is reset to zero. If the water flows through the pathway, and the timer circuit reaches a predetermined manually set value, the valve closes the pathway, stopping the flow of water through the valve assembly. Preferably, the valve assembly indicates whether the valve is in an open or closed position.

Abstract: A method and system for reliably detecting structure and water system leaks incorporates motion-sensing for determining whether there is activity in a building is occupied and measures humidity of the inside of the building. If there is no activity in the building, and an unexpected level of humidity or sudden change in humidity is detected, an alarm is generated and the building water system can be disabled by an electrically controlled valve. Current consumed by water-consuming and/or water vapor generating appliances can be detected and used to qualify the generating of an alarm or interruption of the water system, so that false alarms are not generated and the water supply is not interrupted due to operation of those appliances.

The water flowing through this device is controlled to provide a full-flow of water for a predetermined time frame. Once this time frame has expired, the device cuts off the flow of water by a substantial amount. This greatly reduced flow of water provides for less stimulation and enjoyment of showering and hastens the departure of the bather as well as conserves water and the energy needed to heat that water.
