  • Patent number: 7614428
Abstract: A new and improved power steering hose assembly is described, which may comprise a core hose layer, a first reinforcing layer, an intermediate hose layer, a second reinforcing layer and an outer hose layer. The first reinforcing layer has a braid pattern formed in a 1-over, 1-under pattern. The intermediate hose layer is positioned over the first reinforcing layer. The second reinforcing layer is disposed over the first reinforcing layer. The second reinforcing layer has a braid pattern formed in one of a 3-over, 3-under pattern or a 2-over, 2-under braid pattern. The outer hose layer is positioned over the second reinforcing layer.

  • Publication number: 20090199923
Abstract: A bend stiffener, and a method of producing the same, comprising an elongated cylinder of a polymer material, having a termination interface (4) on at least one end. An internal reinforcement matrix is provided comprising a first layer of a cylindrically arranged woven material (2). The material of the first layer is unwoven at the termination end, the unwoven fibers engage the termination member (3) and pass back over the first layer. The returning fibers of the second layer may be cut at a plurality of lengths to provide zones (10, 11, 12) of decreasing fiber density from the termination end.

  • Publication number: 20090116907
Abstract: Tubes for exudative irrigation and methods for manufacturing the same are disclosed. The tubes may comprise a core of textile formed by a knitted fabric covered with a covering of porous material which may comprise a resin mixture of acrylic or polyurethane type, plus additives such as for example, plasticizers, dyes, thickeners and biostatic substances adapted to prevent the proliferation of bacteria, algae or fungi. The core may be composed of one or more fibres in the form of a thread as a single textile fibre of thread, woven using a method of self-interlacing, forming horizontal rows of loops, or possibly a warped fabric with independent threads, using a warp method with one needle for each thread, forming vertical columns of loops.
