Abstract: An adjustable bent housing includes an outer tubular member having an interior surface defining an interior bore. The outer tubular member has a first angular offset. An inner tubular member is provided and has an exterior surface. The inner tubular member has a second angular offset. The inner tubular member has at least one engagement end received within the interior bore of the outer tubular member. A desired cumulative angular offset is selected by relative rotation of the outer tubular member and the inner tubular member to adjust the positioning of the first angular offset relative to the second angular offset. A rotational stop is provided that limits relative rotation of the outer tubular member and the inner tubular member to a limited rotational range. A locking sleeve locks the outer tubular member and the inner tubular member in a selected rotational position to fix the cumulative angular offset.

Abstract: An existing-pipe rehabilitation method for constructing a rehabilitation pipe inside an existing pipe to rehabilitate the existing pipe. A rehabilitation pipe is constructed inside an existing pipe by coupling segments in the circumferential direction and the lengthwise direction of the existing pipe so that the rehabilitation pipe has a constant outer diameter. A lining material impregnated with a liquid curable resin is inserted into the rehabilitation pipe thus constructed. The liquid curable resin is cured to line the internal circumferential surface of the rehabilitation pipe with the lining material so that an inner diameter of the rehabilitation pipe lined with the lining material is smaller than an inner diameter of the existing pipe.

  • Publication number: 20120305229
Abstract: A heat exchanger and related methods are provided. An example heat exchanger has moveable or flexible joints between tubular members that contain flowing heating medium. The moveable joints allow the overall structure of the heat exchanger to adapt to expansion, contraction, and other stresses of high-temperature, high thermal-gradient operation. The moveable joints also provide breaks in the structure, enabling repair or replacement of parts. A negative internal pressure is maintained to prevent flue gases and heat from escaping through the moveable joints, and prevents contamination of the ambient environment and products being dried. Moveable support measures also allow each tier of tubes to expand or contract independently of each other to accommodate thermal gradients within a given tier of tubes, within a given manifold, and between tiers of tubes, so that virtually all of the thermal stresses associated with conventional heat exchangers are mitigated or eliminated.

Abstract: A strip-connecting type spiral tube is configured so that strip members serving as segments are connected to each other. The strip-connecting type spiral tube for pressure-supporting and easy pull-out has a new-type connection structure of strip members, which allow easy and convenient pull-out of strip members adjacently connected and prevents an arrangement of strip members from collapsing due to an external pressure.

Abstract: Provided is an in-tank tube excellent in pressure-resisting performance. The in-tank tube is an in-tank tube (1) for an automotive fuel of a monolayer structure, the in-tank tube (1) for an automotive fuel being installed in a fuel tank (2) and having a construction that absorbs displacement of the fuel tank (2) and vibration of a fuel pump (5). Further, the in-tank tube (1) for an automotive fuel is formed into a monolayer structure formed of a resin material using an aliphatic polyamide resin as a main component, and has the following pressure-resisting characteristic (X): (X) when silicone oil is charged as a pressurizing medium into the in-tank tube immersed in a test liquid (Fuel C:methanol=85:15 (volume basis)) at 80° C. for 168 hours, both ends of the in-tank tube are each blocked with a test pipe, and a pressure test is performed at a rate of pressure increase of 1.0 MPa/min and room temperature, a pressure (burst pressure) at which the in-tank tube bursts or the test pipe disconnects is 2.

Abstract: A large scale structure includes a plurality of panels, wherein each panel has at least one opening therethrough. And each panel has opposed edge profiles that are positionable next to adjacent panels and opposed end profiles that are positionable next to adjacent panels. A plurality of rods extend through aligned openings so as to interconnect the plurality of panels to one another. And a plurality of coupling nuts, each coupling nut attachable to an end of one of the rods, wherein the coupling nuts secure the panels to one another. An insert with apertures aligned with the openings allows a rod to extend through the insert and facilitate securement of the insert to the plurality of panels so as to form a section. Additional sections can be assembled as needed to form the structure. A method of assembling the structure is also disclosed.

Abstract: The invention describes easily attachable and detachable joints for use in pipe systems carrying pressured fluids. The pipes used for the purpose are made using thermoplastics, preferably polyolefin and provided with integrally formed male spigot end (1) and a female socket end (2). The invention also discloses a method of forming tubes along with their male spigot (1) and the female sockets (2). Joints made using the pipes provided with integral male (1) and female ends (2) are constructed using a push-fit principle. A sealing ring (10) is inserted in the sealing groove (3) of the female socket (2), making the joint leak proof. Plastic or metal clamps (6) are provided to sustain the longitudinal forces imposed on the joint exerted by the pressured fluid. The male spigot (1) is provided with an integrally formed collar (4) that serves as the holding surface to clamp resisting longitudinal forces. The joint is simple in its construction, easy to assemble in field, robust and cost effective.

Abstract: An in-line treble port venturi connector provides a low flow, low pressure inlet port for drawing supplemental fluid into a main flow path. The connector includes a main flow tube having a mixing channel restricting flow and lowering pressure between an upstream port and a downstream port. A baffle projects into the main flow tube from the inner surface of the mixing channel at a location upstream of an inlet port, obstructing main flow to create a separation zone in the low pressure area, causing rotational flow within the separation zone and lowering the average flow rate in the direction of main flow. A pressure differential allows supplemental fluid to be drawn into the mixing channel through the inlet port. The connector may be used to introduce hydrogen or oxygen gas from an on-board generator into a main flow of hydrocarbon fuel in the intake manifold of an internal combustion engine.

Abstract: The pipe has a non-circular cross section that generally looks like that of a squashed circle. The pipe would not deform significantly from that having the squashed circle cross section under the condition in which the inside pressure is the same or less than that of the internal pressure of the pipe that carries ordinary cold tap water. The cross section of the pipe gets deformed to become rounder and larger when the water within the pipe is frozen, and the rounder and larger cross section is large enough for the pipe to contain the frozen water or ice without having any damages. The pipe is made of material such as high carbon content steel that allows the pipe to change its shape back to the pre-frozen shape as the water inside is thawed out.
