  • Patent number: 8629905
Abstract: A method is disclosed for localizing a surveying instrument having a housing including at least one camera in relation to a mark located at a ground level. The method comprises the steps of capturing a first image of the ground below the housing in a first camera position and orientation, wherein the first camera position is eccentric to a vertical rotational axis of the surveying instrument, identifying an object point corresponding to the mark in the first image, measuring first image coordinates of the object point in the first image. The method further comprises the steps of capturing a second image of the ground below the housing in a second camera position and orientation, identifying in the second image, an object point corresponding to the mark, and measuring second image coordinates of the object point in the second image.

  • Patent number: 5905549
Abstract: A redundant electricity-conducting structure, and a method for making it, for use in a liquid crystal display ("LCD"). The LCD has a first layer and a second layer covering a portion of the first layer such that an edge is formed where the second layer starts. The redundant structure includes: a first conductor partially covering each of an area over the first layer and the second layer such that the first conductor must undergo a large change in surface direction where the conductor follows the edge contour of the second layer; and a redundant second conductor connected to and partially covering the first conductor at least in an area extending outside of an area under which is located the large change in surface direction.

  • Patent number: 5868171
Abstract: An elongate deformable conduit and method of fabrication thereof adapted for the subterranean conveying of petroleum products and petrochemicals has an inner copper tube to which is bonded an outer layer of flexible polyvinyl chloride up to about one-third inch in radial wall thickness. In a preferred embodiment the polyvinyl chloride contains an ultraviolet stabilizer and is extruded in a wall thickness up to about one-tenth inch about the copper tube, and the copper tube has an outside diameter ranging up to about two inches and is sized to convey heating oil substantially below ground.

  • Patent number: 4298031
Abstract: Shed forming device for looms of the type having members (1) operated by a common rotating drive shaft (9) and linkages (2, 4, 6) controlled by the members (1) to move the heald frames. Between the drive shaft (9) and each of the members (1) there is interposed a clutch controlled by the fabric pattern model or paper by per se known, structure, by which clutch the position of the member (1) can be released from the movement of the shaft (9).
